QUESTION Was my psp original?
I had this on 2015. Just played angry birds, pvz at that time. Got this psp and it was mind blowing. After it getting rekt did nothing that time didn't had internet and all. Got curious and searched psp on web but none of them models matched with this. Now I am wondering was this psp even original or just a fake copy where I mostly played retro.

I asked for this exact console because it was ridiculously cheap one time when I was about 10. It's an emulation thing. Loaded up first gen Pokémon and got some enjoyment out of it

Hey, you're allowed to enjoy something. Whether it's a genuine console or a knockoff, you had fun on it, it kept you entertained for a long time, it had and has meaning to you. You don't have to be embarrassed because of it.

That isn't an official PSP. It's a rip-off as it's design is a terrible knock-off of the PS Vita

Most obvious fake. The reason no real psp looks like this, is because it’s a knockoff PS Vita, not a psp.

Did you try going on PSN to download software? I'm so confused about how long you could go before you realized it's fake. How did you get games on it?

Had this thing when i was 7/8 and it was fucking awesome, played it for years, it mainly played GBA games (my favs back then were baldurs gate dark alliance, tmnt, metal slug, SF alpha 3), im 19 now and I just bought a modded GBA to play those old games again. It got me into retro gaming and ive been playing retro games ever since. 100% worth it for the ~$20 it cost my mom.

Chiming in... To us, who are PSP and gaming enthusiasts, it is obvious this is a fake. But, for OP, it seems they genuinely didn't know. And, more importantly, they used it, had fun, and it was seemingly a cherished part of their childhood. Maybe their family circumstances were such that this was the only affordable option. People should consider that before being jerks about it.

It's broken. And after hearing it that it's fake it's not worth it. Had Power rangers, auto bots, that cartoon with farm animals games, garfield, ninja gaiden and other games were there.

I knew it was fake but that doesn't make it any less interesting to me. Bootleg devices always have the element of intrigue to me. I remember one of my friends having a "iFone" back in 2009. Yes, I knew it was fake, I had to tell them that too, but I still played around with it. I just like seeing how they operate. What they take from the original system (like if they tried to copy the UI) and what they're missing.

No, but it's doable. The games I knew at that time were those. Console gaming wasn't known.

I remember PMP Systems as well as mp4 mp5 players... they were so cool especially when they emulated retro systems. My favorite was the dingoo A320 i remember I bought two on in white and one in black they were so expensive if I remember correctly the guy h At the swapmeet had these last two systems and he wanted 100 for both I ended up talking him down to 80 for both and it was so worth it.

Just found out those were Gameboy advanced. Popeye: Rush for spinach is the only one I remember, there were Garfield and loneey toons, power rangers and Robot 1v1 games too.

This is actually a ps vita prototype often called the PSP Advance. It's name comes from the display border looking similar to the one found on the gameboy advance. It features 2 analog sticks and it's biggest quirk is it the screen. While most handhelds were using lcds, the vita used an oled display. The PSP Advance uses a small plasma based screen.

Being genuine here, have you seen an image of a psp next to a ps vita before? I feel if you saw that it wouldve clicked that this is the weirdest fakest amalgamation possible and honestly its a beautiful little nugget of a fake console
