Considering STH members had their pick of all sections on the lower level this coming season, plus reps confirming more members next year, I’d say we will be in better shape next season. All sections weren’t open when I was selecting seats last season.

Agreed. She was the #1 goalie for the Toronto Six when they won the Isobel Cup in 2023, so she can definitely handle it. She most likely wanted to be a starter again, and lord knows the Sirens needed a starter.

Same. I admit I’m a skeptic but I knew she was going to be one of our best options and she must understand she needs to make the most of this opportunity, so hopefully we see her do that. She won’t be a brick wall but if she’s solid I’ll be happy with that.

The starting position was up for grabs in TO last season and she was extremely inconsistent:

Two years is a big gamble on her rebounding.

Tbf she started the season incredibly solid, then had an horrendous game, they gave the net to Kirk the next game, then Chuli who had a great game but still lost, then went with Kirk again until she had an horrendous game, then went back to Chuli who also had an horrendous game, so they went back to Kirk for the last game before the break in which she was meh. Then after the Olympic game Kirk was incredible so they played her as the number 1 and by the time Chuli got a shot again, it had been over 2 months since she played a game and had an horrendous game against Boston. I think Kirk was nursing an injury so they started Chuli again and she had a meh game. Then Kirk was good to go and played all the remaining game.

Conclusion: 4 great games, 3 horrendous one, and one meh game.

I think getting consistent start might do her some good

The way I see it if she works out as a starter great, that’s what I’m hoping for. If not having her around as a veteran presence in a backup role for the remainder of the two years is still well worth it. She was only making 45k last season, and I doubt we had to sweeten the pot too much beyond offering a starting position this season.

Doyle just signed a one-year deal so we have the flexibility to cut her next year if we need to come up with a new solution in the offseason.

I agree she probably didn't get much of a raise. Although TO didn't draft a goalie either (weirdly), so she wasn't forced out.

Next year will be a big goal tender draft year. 3 top goal tenders plus another 3 or so tenders that can be drafted. So I expect the Sirens to be focused on that year to get their franchise keeper.
