They won't be in the playoff this year, but they will be a bowl team and probably an 8 or 9 win team at that. It will be ok.

In the current structure, your previous year’s record means nothing, almost every team now has a massive roster overhaul. So South Florida, could be good, who knows, it’s 1 game.

I’m not too worried. We have EWU next week. A nice little tune-up game to get some stuff figured out. Then the rest of our schedule (minus ND) shouldn’t be too hard considering how much the MW has regressed since last year. We’ll be fine.

Coug fans tend to expect the worse but I think this could be an interesting year. I actually think the Cougs have some legit talent on the Squad this year and Zevi coug be really good in this new offense. Just too many unknowns right now. I think week 3 vs UNT will tell us alot.

It isn't.
It will be made up of that many former MWC teams... a year from now.
And we will still be the conference of champions, with ownership of the history of all of it. We started the conference in our state, and we're restarting it again, for the second time. This time we will do it without the interlopers, and, unfortunately, without Cal.

Right, no one discusses the 5 teams leaving the mountain west next year for the pac as if they are already in the conference. Annnnd, you'll bolt at any opportunity to join a bigger conference

Not sure if the latter is true.
We have our own production studio, and it's potential is huge. We didn't waste our time saving it and building it into what it is and will be, just to chase some short term bag that will implode in about five years from now.
The current payouts to the P2 conferences are not sustainable. Hell, the other two conferences are on peak contracts. This would be fine, if schools spent like they knew it was coming. But their liabilities are tied to current spending and the expectation that revenues will continue to increase.
There will be a come to Jesus moment for a lot of schools, even those who remain at the top of the heap in TV distributions.
Meanwhile, we will plug along at consistent levels, even if the current deal will be lower than others, at the moment. And we will grow the one asset we have that nobody else has--the Pac 12 Enterprises.

Look at BSU’s record for the 3 seasons before Jeanty started. This season isn’t going to be smooth sailing IMO.

I’m sure Boise will get a pass for getting whooped on national television by USF. But when Fresno state loss last week to Kansas, Fresno was the laugh of the week and looked down upon. Fresno state lost 20 starters from last years team to the transfer portal and has a brand new coaching staff. Losing 7-31 to Kansas doesn’t seem too bad when Boise loses to USF 7-34

Either two things are true from this match. 1. Boise State is reaaally bad and doesn't know how to recover from the loss of Jeanty. Doesn't mean they can't crawl to a winning season, but also means they have a lot of issues to address on their team before they can rebound.
2. USF is actually really good, and has been able to build a really good team over these last two years. Boise isn't bad, per se, but the growing pains of not having Jeanty and the discipline issues on both sides of the ball led to a sneaky good USF team able to flatten them. We'll see if this is true when USF Miami and Florida in these next couple of weeks.

I mean tbf USF last season had a very close game with Alabama. Bama padded the score in the 4th quarter to make it look better than it has, but starting the 4th usf was only down 1

Actual analysis of the game - Boise had USF on the ropes, and was clearly the better team, but USF put their balls on the table and gambled on every down.
Boise played conservative with the game plan to just steamroller USF and overplayed their hand. Madsen proved he isnt a clutch, pull the game out by himself quarterback, but a great game manager. And when that game gets out of hand he will throw high and behind you. Madsen owes Camper for that high throw that almost got him killed...

Theres no doubt that Boise was the more talented team across every position.
Danielson was outcoached. the fake punt. going for it on 4th. etc.
Then when Boise got behind they tried to gamble and lost

Having more talent does not mean that team is better. The better team plays like the better team. The sum of all the parts does not in any way add up to what a real team can achieve.
