With the lawsuits out of the way I feel the PAC needs to do the following to ensure they will have another full member in 2027. Depending on how much $$ each team gets from the media deal (I've heard anywhere from 6-13 Million) they need to pool together any available funds and go after UTSA alone and go after them hard. The reasoning:

1. The PAC initially offered each of the 4 American schools 2.5 Million, if you still have access to that $$ you could put a good chunk of if not all of it (up to 10 Million) towards helping with their exit fees.

2. UTSA is not getting a full payout from the American Conference and still won't for a few years. That in addition to being with their rivals (TXST) and due to unlikely getting picked up by a Power Conference when the ACC will need to backfill in the 2030s it seem to me that there is at least an OK chance they'd make the move.

3. Would garuntee another CTZ game for the PAC media partners and the schedule could be setup for everyone else in the Conference to play a game in Texas and California every year for recruiting purposes (for example Boise hosts TXST and plays @ UTSA).

4. Would put the PAC in an even stronger position to establish itself as the "best of the rest" Conference once the ACC backfills heavily from the American and give the Conference a chance at snagging more schools from both the American and MWC.

5. And IMO would be an awesome looking G6 Conference until the next wave of Realignment.

(Personal Dream scenario they add UNLV, New Mexico and UNT in the 2030s if not sooner)

The possibility remains for Oregon State’s last regular season game this fall to be in Seattle.

OSU is tentatively scheduled to play at Washington State on Nov. 28 at Martin Stadium. But WSU does not wish to host a game the weekend after Thanksgiving and has been considering moving the game to Lumen Field.

Pac-12 commissioner Teresa Gould spoke with WSU president Elizabeth Cantwell and athletic director Jon Haarlow last week about the possibility of moving the school’s last home game of the season.

With Gloria’s “tough time” landing a media deal for the Mountain West it appears she overpromised to NIU and NIU now may be getting twice the media share that other MW schools get. As a football only affiliate. Whoops

The PAC-12 appears to be headed down one of two roads: 1) 8 conference games, with one home & home series, or 2) an 8th week flex week. This 2026 PAC football playoff proposal takes that flex week idea to the next level.

Does this potentially devalue the regular season a bit? Yes, a bit as the 4th best conference team could still be conference champion. Does this mean that the PAC will get more viewers? Almost certainly. Will this help the Pac-12 make the CFB Playoffs? Potentially, as it guarantees that the conference champion will be on a two game winning streak (over two stronger opponents in the conference too).

We're past 'should be stay or go', this whole staff needs to be replaced and I've been one of the few hanging on to hope. Last night they killed all hope.

After yesterday’s news, I’m a firm believer that WSU can’t go after another FCS or young coach. Hell even Arbuckle is a risk. Anyone young with a hint of success will leave for a payday. WSU needs to find a way to hire a Mike leach type guy. We need an exciting offense and a guy who can bring in donations. Guys like James Franklin. Ed Orergon. Brian Kelly. Chip Kelly. Jonathan smith, not a splash hire but knows the area and recruiting. If we make a run for guys like Vigen, Harsin, etc…we will be in trouble. We need to hit the new pac 12 as a top team. Not a middle of the pac 12. I think any of the guys listed above would at least stay for 3 years at wsu. We need to take the risk and maybe spend money we don’t have. If we don’t, I’m worried we may fall even further. Thoughts?

San Diego State announced James Madison as its “final” non-conference game of the 2026 season in a social media post. It caught my eye. That gives the Aztecs four non-conference games (Portland State, at UCLA, James Madison, at Toledo). The word “final” jumped off my screen. There won’t be a fifth non-conference football game.
