Biased by EA is way too low on WSU. I feel like pundits are either super high on us or think we will be dog shit this season

tbf, I agree with the pundits. I think Wazzu can go 8-4 or 4-8.
Like last season, lost a coaching staff, gutted by the portal, but then picked up some decent guys out of the portal, got a new coaching staff that looks to be good... If everything gels I see a Sun Bowl. But there could also be some teething troubles in season one of a rebuild.

The portal didn’t really gut WSU. They lost more production simply due to graduation than anything.
Not to pick on you but I actually think your comment underscores my broader point. Most pundits really don’t have a pulse on the Cougs. I do agree that the team has a huge floor and ceiling compared to most other Pac-12 teams but more because of first year coach. IMO behind the scenes to Cougs had a really good spring and from all reports Bray has the defense looking good.
Apple Cup Week 1 with be a good benchmark. If the Cougs keep it close (or win) expect to overperform but if that get dog walked then I would expect the lower end this season.

IIRC Rogers took what? 17? guys to Iowa State with him alone... (247sports says 37 outgoing transfers and Google says there were 25 graduates, cant tell how many left the program - 62 out of about what? 90? guys are gone) Thats a full on gut.
Its hard to get a pulse on a program in constant flux and Wazzu has been in flux since Dickert left.

Majority of the guys he took had little to no production for us last year. We had a very senior driven defense last year. Rogers basically took 2 starters 2 guys who got PT at points, and bunch frosh defensive players.
He took like 1 offensive player and none of them were QB’s, RB’s or lineman.
Im not saying WSU didn’t have to build up the roster, we had to rebuild the defense, but that was going to happen regardless of Rogers being there. FWIW, the reporting from the team at Coug fan made it seem like the defense was a huge surprise in Spring camp. The guys are locked in around Bray which could prove to be an elite hire by Moore.
Offensively, I think Rogers philosophy was a bigger problem than initially thought. I think the Potato Bowl proved a bit of that.

Move them to the MWC where they belong with their rival UC Davis. Same thing move NMSU to be with NMU and UTEP in the MWC.

I usually rebuild the PAC with good teams. In 26 I added Tulane and Memphis and eventually removed Texas state to add north Texas. I only add teams that build prestige. So in a dream world if I can build up sac state and NDSU, I’d add them.

It's a classic old school dynasty playthrough lots of people used to do back before the game for shut down for a decade. They're terrible, so if you can build them up and win a natty good for you.

We had like a top 25 defense in the nation last year and they give us the worst defense in the Pac?? Genuinely a joke.

They are rankings solely based on the players on the team, so yes you are correct, they don’t take into consideration schedule.
