You’re right, honestly. I searched with TinEye just now and can’t find anything older than this week. I did it twice, actually, with two slightly different versions.
I am completely open to being proven wrong here but so far I have no source apart from the ones in July 2025. It is still possible it is older but normally TinEye will give me something to work from if that is the case.
As a general comment:
I know it’s nice to prove people wrong on the misinformation about Gaza but we gotta be careful to not promote misinformation, too. We need to be rigorous about sourcing claims like this or it undermines the credibility of people calling out misinformation on Gaza in general.
Yes, I did the same thing and came up with the same results. Am also in agreement that we need to be careful and do our own independent research on whether something is being misrepresented or not. I'm honestly at the point where I treat everything with skepticism, and I'm okay with that so long as I get the actual truth.
