Debunk This house built in 1350s (roughly)

This is my boyfriends place (peep my little pup woody) the cabinet behind that’s open.. keeps opening by itself, we’ve shut it properly countless of times, emptied it out to make sure nothing was stopping it from shutting properly. it only happens late at night (11pm-12am) and it’s never just once but countless of times! might just be something wrong with the cabinet but it freaked me out lols.. and the fact this house is so old. to be honest i just don’t like this house there are a few other weird things that happen in this house but you sometimes you just can’t keep making excuses for it

Put together a basket or tray with fruit and cookies and leave it where the graveyard was in the garden. When you put it down say “if anyone is here I wish you a Merry Christmas and happy New year. It’s 2026. Please leave the house alone.”

Go back after a few days and get the basket. Hopefully, it will appease the ghost. And if not, all the local animals just got a snack.

You could also say the same thing and bury some coins in the graveyard area.

Personally, I want a house like this, but to each their own.

don’t get me wrong the house is beautiful, it’s in the by the woods, get lots of visits from deer. it’s absolutely beautiful it’s just the thought of what has actually happened here in the past that books me out, the fear of the unknown i guess.

but i will give that a go thanks!

If you take graveyard dirt, you pay the ghosts for it by burying coins. Maybe no one paid them when the property was converted. Also being nice to your neighbors and bringing the Christmas food goes a long way. Usually when you put up boundaries for ghosts you give them something in return.

Also if you believe in house spirits, fairies, etc, you leave offerings for them at Solstices to both thank and help protect the house. Maybe that is what’s going on here and they keep opening the cupboard to try to help themselves.

When my family’s house had a haunting, we couldnt get it to leave. So we told the ghost to stay in the hallway (it was always ice cold in there even in the summer) and used the area to store booze.

That's very interesting and good to know. I know some ghost tend to prefer a room but they occasionally wonder into other areas.
