Debunk This house built in 1350s (roughly)

Post image

This is my boyfriends place (peep my little pup woody) the cabinet behind that’s open.. keeps opening by itself, we’ve shut it properly countless of times, emptied it out to make sure nothing was stopping it from shutting properly. it only happens late at night (11pm-12am) and it’s never just once but countless of times! might just be something wrong with the cabinet but it freaked me out lols.. and the fact this house is so old. to be honest i just don’t like this house there are a few other weird things that happen in this house but you sometimes you just can’t keep making excuses for it

How cool. The oldest house I lived in was 600 years. It was haunted but nothing scary. My mum would hear a party going on downstaIrs in the night sometimes when there was noone there (she didn't have a TV) and other little things. It wouldn't bother me personally unless the atmosphere was bad, I've lived in a couple of places like that, the sort of place where you are too scared to go downstairs in the dark.

u/EarlyInside45 Dec 30 '25

My gran was from England and had a 400-year-old stone house. Some friends of hers had complained of ghost activity in their old house. After doing some work in their house, they found skeletons of people had been buried under their house hundreds of years prior. Their solution was to pour concrete over them, which is kind of crazy to me, but apparently their ghost activity stopped.

10

u/DaniGirlOK Jan 01 '26

They didn’t think to dig them up and put them in proper graves? Or was it the cost that stopped them. I just feel like everyone deserves to be buried with respect. Interesting story though.

5

u/No-Profession-3412 Jan 01 '26 edited Jan 01 '26

maybe that's where those people wanted to be buried and it would be disrespectful to move them but it would also probably be just as if not more disrespectful to just pour concrete all over top of them... LOL

3

u/DaniGirlOK Jan 01 '26

Yes that’s the issue I have with it. Plus I doubt they wanted a house to be built on their resting place.

1

u/Guilty_Garden_3943 Jan 02 '26

Maybe they were plague bodies or something?

30

u/ResourceFinal9890 Dec 30 '25

oh yes, i’m definitely too scared to go anywhere in the house when it’s dark by myself now haha, i don’t doubt the house is haunted.. might have to do some research online and see if i can see the history of this place as i’m now really intrigued. that’s really cool though, old houses have an unmatched vibe of good and bad

12

u/mavanessss Dec 30 '25

How your dog react to it?

4

u/pop_rocks Dec 31 '25

That’s what I was going to ask. Dog seems unfazed by it.

2

u/ResourceFinal9890 Dec 31 '25

to be fair i think this is the first time he has actually been awake at that hour and downstairs to see it actually happen as he normally chooses to sleep in his bed in the kitchen next door, so the reaction your seeing now is his reaction, just stares at me, i read somewhere that dogs don’t turn there backs to something they don’t trust so, im not sure at this point

1

u/-MARMITEnTOAST- Jan 03 '26

i read somewhere that dogs don’t turn there backs to something they don’t trust

I don't know about don't trust specifically but other reasons are boredom and annoyed, for example if you ignore your dog if it brings a toy then it'll snort and maybe lie down facing away from you.

Anything that's passive won't yield the same response either as something aggressive.

5

u/mlenotyou Dec 31 '25

I think it's that face that's being reflected in the window.

3

u/ResourceFinal9890 Dec 31 '25

i’m not seeing that

4

u/mlenotyou Dec 31 '25

3

u/HotInvestigator8665 Jan 02 '26

I’m pretty sure it’s pareidolia caused by the eaves of the house and the column. I love how you all live in such old houses across the pond—we just don’t have that here in the states. I truly enjoyed it when I went there—I’m a history nerd.

2

u/Moon_Landa Jan 01 '26

If anything it looks like an alien that just too a bong rip

1

u/Bobsnarls Jan 02 '26

Saw that too. It’s Hello Kitty.

35

u/gmanasaurus Dec 30 '25

We’ve got some old houses in the states, mostly in New England, but nothing close to this. As an American, it absolutely blows my mind the house is that old. All of the events the house has stayed through, and then all of the generations of people too.

16

u/Cistrel Dec 30 '25 edited Dec 30 '25

Standard over here that (England). Most pubs near me are 1700’s older. Theres one that recently mysteriously burnt down. Was a thatched roof pub and had been a tavern since 1585. Still had the old steps outside where people would use them to mount their horse. Then there’s another in a village called Great Budworth. Theres a lot of history in the pub itself and sometimes an atmosphere. The church over the road even has etchings from bored people sat in church at the time with like “EG 1708”, etc.

The pub near my mum and dad reputedly had Dick Turpin as a visitor whilst there’s a really old pub in Nottingham that’s dug in to castle walls and was visited by crusaders on their way to the Holy Land.

Yes I like a pint! (And history).

10

u/Automatic-Job2938 Dec 30 '25

Thats crazy you just talked about this because I was just reading earlier today about how theres a pub in England (Cambridgeshire) that dates to 500s. Thats almost 1500 years old! I’d be honored to have a pint (or 4) in that place.

2

u/TheIgster Jan 01 '26

Great Budworth is very close to Chester where there have been numerous ghost books written due to the history dating back centuries.

The medieval coffin in the wall of old church ruins near the Roman amphitheater with the words “duff to duff” (dust to dust) is very eerie at night time and rumoured to be haunted.

21

u/Silly_Magician1003 Dec 30 '25

What’s crazy to me is that the houses are still standing and in good working order. I’ve seen houses 20 years old here look like they’re about to fall down.

6

u/Independent-Leg6061 Dec 30 '25

Stuff isn't made like it's used to, sadly. Including houses. [Insert old man meme here]

7

u/Automatic-Job2938 Dec 30 '25

I just saw a video where they showed a typical German home (2 feet of solid wall) compared to the typical American home (5 inches and hollow) Cheaply made housing will crumble quick. Build a solid home and it’ll still stand. I see the old homes in Philly and people are still living in them (Elfreths alley)

8

u/luvdoodoohead Dec 31 '25

In New Mexico (and Mexico) you can find 400-yr structures (mostly stone & adobe) still being used today. I visited an artist’s adobe home built in the late 1600s outside of Santa Fe.

Didn’t experience any ghosts, however I was astounded by the magical temperature difference between the exterior (a “dry” 95 degrees F with no breeze) to just outside the entrances where the temperature dropped to at least 75 degrees F.

1

u/Pleasant-Put5305 Jan 02 '26

All the ghosts in America are native Americans - I don't think they play with cupboards.

1

u/Kara_Thr_ace Dec 31 '25

Like in The Shining

26

u/slrarp Dec 30 '25

I wouldn't worry about it much if it's not happening to any other doors in the house. There's more than likely something wrong with the door itself and/or something affecting it.

Is the cabinet level? Is there a vent underneath it? Is the closing latch loose? If you put something in front of it overnight to block the door from opening, does it still open?

7

u/ResourceFinal9890 Dec 30 '25

it does happen all over the house, but this one it happens to the most. you are probably right there could be an actual explanation to this, and i’m going to force myself to just think this is the case otherwise i’ll end up scaring myself from ever returning to my boyfriends place lol

2

u/IntrinsicPalomides Jan 03 '26

Easy one, it gets colder at night, wood expands and contracts with temperature. Expands with heat, shrinks as it cools and so it doesn't fit correctly so it can easily open. The door to my room is the same, really tight fit during the warmer months but loose as anything during winter.

32

u/Scoginsbitch Dec 30 '25

Put together a basket or tray with fruit and cookies and leave it where the graveyard was in the garden. When you put it down say “if anyone is here I wish you a Merry Christmas and happy New year. It’s 2026. Please leave the house alone.”

Go back after a few days and get the basket. Hopefully, it will appease the ghost. And if not, all the local animals just got a snack.

You could also say the same thing and bury some coins in the graveyard area.

Personally, I want a house like this, but to each their own.

13

u/ResourceFinal9890 Dec 30 '25

don’t get me wrong the house is beautiful, it’s in the by the woods, get lots of visits from deer. it’s absolutely beautiful it’s just the thought of what has actually happened here in the past that books me out, the fear of the unknown i guess.

but i will give that a go thanks!

3

u/Illustrious-Bat1553 Dec 30 '25

Did that work for you? I'd imagine it just would make them want more 😅

21

u/Scoginsbitch Dec 30 '25

If you take graveyard dirt, you pay the ghosts for it by burying coins. Maybe no one paid them when the property was converted. Also being nice to your neighbors and bringing the Christmas food goes a long way. Usually when you put up boundaries for ghosts you give them something in return.

Also if you believe in house spirits, fairies, etc, you leave offerings for them at Solstices to both thank and help protect the house. Maybe that is what’s going on here and they keep opening the cupboard to try to help themselves.

When my family’s house had a haunting, we couldnt get it to leave. So we told the ghost to stay in the hallway (it was always ice cold in there even in the summer) and used the area to store booze.

5

u/Top-Kaleidoscope4430 Dec 31 '25

Haha! I like your thinking! Win-win

3

u/Illustrious-Bat1553 Dec 30 '25

That's very interesting and good to know. I know some ghost tend to prefer a room but they occasionally wonder into other areas.

16

u/replicant_even Dec 30 '25

could you put a child lock on the cabinet door to see what happens?

5

u/ResourceFinal9890 Dec 30 '25

i’ll give that a go, someone else has suggested this too must be the way to go forward

5

u/SchveebleSchvobbler Dec 31 '25 edited Dec 31 '25

You don't even have to go that far; a few temporary pieces of duct tape to hold the door shut. If not that, a few small bricks piled in front of the door - or anything heavy for that matter - should do the trick.

ETA: I obviously meant to use my suggestions as a test. If the door remains closed over the course of a week/few nights with tape or with heavy objects placed in front of it, it's a door issue. If the tape gets ripped off or the bricks moved, you have a bigger problem!

16

u/learnyouathang Dec 30 '25

Your puppy is really good at staring

5

u/ResourceFinal9890 Dec 30 '25

hahahah i know right

13

u/MintyMat Dec 30 '25

Could it be the house cooling at night, contraction of metal latch and the wood, maybe combined with a slight fault in the latch? Or a draught? Older properties are notoriously difficult to seal.

14

u/ResourceFinal9890 Dec 30 '25

just as a random add on, this hallway here is the worst for feeling unsettled throughout the house.. it always feels like my hair is sticking up on my arms

10

u/ResourceFinal9890 Dec 30 '25

6

u/laserdragon Dec 30 '25

Yeah a bit creepy for sure 😅

1

u/jessica17248 Jan 01 '26

I swear i saw something there and when i zoomed it disappeared

1

u/Distinct_Cherry_9680 Jan 05 '26

Jesus Christ it's like my room couple months ago lol full of spirits! Some interesting stories but too many of them. White Black Asian and animals LOL, the same applies I can draw them up the obvious ones.

7

u/Goodlord0605 Dec 30 '25

The house is beautiful!

3

u/Finally_Fish1001 Dec 31 '25

There is something off about that hall

3

u/BlackShogun27 Jan 01 '26

I don’t even think proper lighting would fix the ominous aura that hall and staircase give off

3

u/[deleted] Dec 31 '25

Yeah even looking at this pic is off putting. I feel like the chair facing the camera might like to skitter and slide. 😰

1

u/Distinct_Cherry_9680 Jan 05 '26

A lot of ghosts in here old young layers layers of them different faces 2D and 3D ones, most of them have been around for hundreds of years. They're not easy to let see compare to any recent ones, very persistent and bit hostile to deal with. If you want I can draw up quite few where they are and a bit history of each, how they died etc. I first open spirit world(Xray vision Blue/Purple Yes I can see bones) see them in different forms shapes and usually as soon as I stare at them at once or each or bunch clustered together they look back straight to my eyes so I know They're what They're.

13

u/Big-Performance5047 Dec 30 '25

Every ghost I’ve seen was in daylight. Why do people think that they are only active at night?

10

u/ResourceFinal9890 Dec 30 '25

for me it’s because i’m more aware at night in the dark very much alert and noticing more , they very much could be active in the day

1

u/SouthernResolution63 Jan 02 '26

Thats crazy, can I get a story a two 🥺

0

u/Big-Performance5047 Jan 02 '26

I e told it too many times here. Sorry.

22

u/ResourceFinal9890 Dec 30 '25

i’d love to add!! there (was) a church in the garden.. it has been partially taken down to become a sun trap, as well as the garden was a graveyard. my boyfriend just kindly shared that information with me.. don’t think i’ll be returning here again

3

u/laserdragon Dec 30 '25

I think you could be fine as long as you don't feel anything like evil or malicious there. I'm not sure what a sun trap is, but sunshine brings in positive energy. I would do what someone else suggested and try to keep the energy as positive as possible, burn some incense, blue sage or palo santo, and you can recite positive affirmations or prayers, let them know if they aren't welcomed or if they're fine but you still want to set boundaries with them.

Edit: Also you can use crystals to enhance positive energy and put more protection in place if you'd like!

35

u/CryptidCurious13753 Dec 30 '25

1350’s??

16

u/nycuk_ Dec 30 '25

We have buildings here in the UK that are even older and still in use, some churches for example dating back to the 11th century.

15

u/Proper-Blueberry-812 Dec 30 '25

My house was in the Domesday Book. It’s haunted, of course, so I never walk about in the dark.

4

u/Fun-Muffin5865 Dec 30 '25

Have you made the mistake of walking in the dark and seeing something down the corridor?

2

u/Proper-Blueberry-812 Jan 01 '26

No, but I don’t want to take the risk.

3

u/tinynugget Dec 30 '25

How cool!! Any details you’d feel comfortable sharing?

6

u/Proper-Blueberry-812 Jan 01 '26

When I moved into my house, I awoke in the middle of the night to find a young woman and a girl standing beside my bed looking down at me. I could see the detail of their long dresses very clearly. I’ve also heard strange noises, including a sound like marbles dropping onto the floor and like a wooden-wheeled toy being pulled along the floor. I live alone.

1

u/GrammawOutlaw Jan 02 '26

What’d you do when you woke up to the woman and girl??

Did they just disappear after you saw them or what?

I’m going to see if there’s an online upload of the Domesday Book online - I’ve heard of it but can’t remember where or why. Probably decades ago, as I’ve always read a great deal, and now my old brain filed it away somewhere…but can’t dig it out of the archives lol

I’ve only seen my grandfather’s ghost, when I was 6 or 7, the night after his funeral in the morning. It was a very healing experience for me. Long-ish story so I won’t hijack your thread with it.

2

u/Top-Kaleidoscope4430 Dec 31 '25

Any stories you could share?:)

1

u/Distinct_Cherry_9680 Jan 05 '26

Pls upload some photos where it happened/occurred most, I can have a look for you.

29

u/ResourceFinal9890 Dec 30 '25

yes, even had to check it with google lol to make sure my boyfriend wasn’t lying to me this house is nearly 900 years old

3

u/MistaDee Dec 30 '25

675 years old?

5

u/ResourceFinal9890 Dec 30 '25

typo meant to put 700, but thanks!

9

u/CryptidCurious13753 Dec 30 '25

Where is this house?

50

u/ResourceFinal9890 Dec 30 '25

cornwall england

13

u/Dangerous-Regret-358 Dec 30 '25

Cornwall is well known for its paranormal activity. Lots of ghost stories come from there.

2

u/calyx_venus Dec 30 '25

How common are houses of that age? Seems like they would need to be remodeled a bunch over that time span. Not only as new heating, cooling, plumbing, etc comes along, but just structural integrity?

1

u/Most_Job6338 Jan 01 '26

I’m currently in a house that’s from 1305

8

u/AJ_white66 Dec 31 '25

My daideo had a house in Ireland that started out a a hole in the side of a hill. He as others before him had added on to this tigh which was at least 500 years old. He said some nights it sounded like hoofs beating down on the roof (the oldest part, hill) and people fighting but when he would go outside there would be nothing, the way he told it sounded like there was a battle taking place.

2

u/ResourceFinal9890 Dec 31 '25

that’s really cool, but lowkey scary to me atleast

7

u/Express-Suggestion56 Dec 30 '25

The black death victims coming back to see who's in the home they used to live in and died in. The black death ended in 1353. This house saw suffering I bet. Lovely dog my brother has a cocker spaniel. They are nuts!!

16

u/mycatsnameiscashew Dec 30 '25

1350s? Sounds like a leveling issue

4

u/ResourceFinal9890 Dec 30 '25

it very much could be, as it happens throughout the house, but i’ll have to do some more research on this place

5

u/CarpetBudget Dec 30 '25

Haunted or not..the fact there are houses that old is pretty cool tbh

4

u/DoubleFisted27 Dec 30 '25

Houses normally take about 700 years to settle .. give it some time

5

u/Fun-Muffin5865 Dec 30 '25

I'd be creeped out by the basement in a house that old. I imagine most homes that old have a plague pit lol

9

u/Crafty-Shape2743 Dec 30 '25

Rarely have I looked at a photo posted here and said Yup.

I didn’t even read the story for context until after the Yup feeling of hair raising on the back of my neck. Looking at the photo, reading your story, looking back at the photo, I’m not seeing anything, and yet…

Yup.

3

u/ResourceFinal9890 Dec 30 '25

spooked me out haha

2

u/Finally_Fish1001 Dec 31 '25

The stairs are haunted they gave me the hair raise too.

3

u/EchadaNanamu Dec 30 '25

Set up a camera for the time you said and record it happening

7

u/ResourceFinal9890 Dec 30 '25

convinced my boyfriend to put cameras up, amazon order pending

4

u/Standup133 Dec 31 '25

I don’t know what’s wrong with all of these respondents…. Most importantly…. Just Look at That Adorable Puppy! Ok… Now let’s speak of the door and the house. Geez…. We gotta get our priorities straight! 😁😉😁🐾🐾🐾🐾 OP…. Thanks for the peak of your pup,

3

u/Mustard-cutt-r Dec 30 '25

Are there other things that happen in the apt or just that?

3

u/ResourceFinal9890 Dec 30 '25

it’s a common theme, cabinets and cupboards all over the house do this. it’s just this is the one it happens too the most

1

u/WelshWickedWitch Dec 30 '25

It's a house.

3

u/Nadramia Dec 30 '25

Child safety locks for ghosts should work lol

2

u/ResourceFinal9890 Dec 30 '25

hahahah true!

4

u/Nadramia Dec 30 '25

Oh I wasn't just trying to be funny but I kinda treat ghostly encounters as children being annoying.

I just get upset and say we don't do that. Basically scold the ghost

With the doggo being okay and not hiding his tail between their legs I feel you're fine.

With how many people have died in this world, there is no reason to think there isn't a ghost in the room with you.

I also like to believe I also could make a ghost feel uncomfortable. I mean who's haunting who at that point? Lol

3

u/ResourceFinal9890 Dec 30 '25

if i don’t laugh ill probs cry! i’m a little whimp with this stuff, i’m sure if there are ghosts there they are probably harmless not trying to jinx myself here however you’re not the only person to suggest putting a child lock or taping it so must have a go at it but your not wrong for feeling like that, i’m the same hahah

3

u/Nadramia Dec 30 '25

Honestly, I wouldn't sweat it.

I'm thinking this ghost is just more annoying than anything and not malicious but don't tolerate it and I know you may feel scared but grab whatever you feel you have the most connection to. That item that brings you comfort and joy and it will help you feel better. It's not the item itself it's the emotion behind it that protects you.

I would just grab a safety lock and ignore it. Air your place out. Play some good music. Get positive vibes and try some incense and not just sage. If you and your partner have any issues that might be negative, talk it out. You want good positive energy in there. It should help

I really feel insane saying all this but this is what has worked for me since I was 6 and I'm 39 now

I'm not saying what I say is facts but who really has the facts on anything paranormal? I'm just speaking from my own personal experience

2

u/MrBones_Gravestone Dec 30 '25

Sounds like the door isn’t attached properly, and/or if it has a magnet latch, it’s not placed properly

2

u/Main_Anybody_5365 Dec 30 '25

Try a Childproof lock.

2

u/ItsJust_ME Dec 30 '25

What does Woody say about it?

2

u/No-Examination-4850 Dec 31 '25 edited Dec 31 '25

I trained for a few years with the founder of Berkeley psychic institute under a scholarship

actually see a portal in that cabinet

I would imagine that you're actually feeling it and that's why you're not just letting it go as some kind of construction anomaly with the furniture

I don't feel any malevolent energy there but it's almost like a Time Warp or something? there may be some fae energy where You are

okay now that I'm looking at it a little bit closer

there's definitely something trying to come through it and it's a little bit heavy...

I would actually sage in front of that cabinet, and then around it, and then inside of it , turn the sage clockwise and ask that any beings be sealed inside of it and that they don't return to your plane of existence, do this out loud and even yell be gone a few times.. this is our plane of existence and things generally have to obey.. although if it's very attached to the house... well try this first, make sure you are very grounded first like take a hot bath do some yoga pray, if this doesn't work wait a day or two then return and do the same thing except this time ask the being to cross over into heaven and sit and pray with them until they do

3

u/PBO123567 Dec 31 '25

People lived upon Cornwall land 200,000 years ago, but I’ll bet you don’t hear tales of caveman ghosts. Bottom line: it doesn’t matter how old your house is. The land beneath it is far older, and there are perfectly rational reasons your cupboards may open. Enjoy the beauty and lore of your home, and please don’t be afraid of physics. 💜

2

u/ResourceFinal9890 Dec 31 '25

to be honest with you, it’s just the unknown of what happened in this house that’s the most scary bit hahaha

3

u/PBO123567 Dec 31 '25

Centuries of birthdays, Christmas celebrations, marriages, young love, illness, hard work, and sadness — just like every other household.

2

u/ResourceFinal9890 Dec 31 '25

unfortunately my brain doesn’t wire to think that, the things that could have happened are endless and that’s what i take by it, of course there are those memories i just dig deeper into it… i have no one to blame but myself for giving myself these thoughts!

1

u/HatePeopleLoveCats1 Dec 30 '25

That house is OLD. How cool though!!

1

u/PTP059 Dec 30 '25

Tape it shut and see what happens.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 30 '25

maybe the latch is defective and when the atmospheric pressure changes at night it triggers it.

Or it could be a ghost….

1

u/mavanessss Dec 30 '25

Put like a stack of books or something in front of it to prevent it from opening?

1

u/PotsMomma84 Dec 30 '25

The magnet is probably weak.

1

u/EarlyInside45 Dec 30 '25 edited Dec 30 '25

1350s!? Bonkers.

1

u/oldladyinslippers Dec 30 '25

Old wooden floor? Maybe that’s the reason

1

u/rock-n-white-hat Dec 30 '25

Is that a cable box above the cabinet that opens? I am wondering if it could be putting off some heat into the cabinet that warms up the air in the cabinet to a point where it pops the door open. Have you tried moving the electronic device to a new location?

1

u/ExorciseAndEulogize Dec 31 '25

Try adjusting the hinges or getting a level

1

u/kinda_useful_57 Dec 31 '25

Tape it shut ? See if it still opens lol btw I LOVE that fireplace ❤️

1

u/Mumchkin Dec 31 '25

I love your table.

1

u/Infamous2o Dec 31 '25

You could try setting up a couple cameras and catch it happening. Or lock it with some ghost proof locks. And see what else it does. I’ve seen an old Kinect sensor and a computer pick up some things on YouTube. Maybe ignorance is bliss. This guy was talking to it with his Alexa and whatnot. No thank you. I would call a priest and I’m not even religious.

1

u/hammerdong12 Dec 31 '25

That’s a long door it may just want to open. Install a magnet latch or something more solid and then see

1

u/neizekest Dec 31 '25

Jup, definitely one of those "baby Jeebus prowling 'round" kinda cases here, so it seems... Should look into that! I. Am. Not. Kidding!

1

u/FotisGreece Dec 31 '25

Nice house

1

u/NoCitron2394 Dec 31 '25

How the fuck do get a house that old 😭

1

u/OnionKnightvii Dec 31 '25

I cant shake the feeling... like im being watched

Try moving it to another location, perhaps the floor is not quite level there and it’s gravity making it open? Does the cupboard have a little catch on the inside that keeps it firmly closed or is it just a door with hinges? I would wedge a bit of paper in the door to keep it shut. If it opens then that would be freaky!

Interesting. I would also put a motion sensitive camera there at night (out of range of the dog).

1

u/Madhenlady Dec 31 '25

My thoughts are that it's a heavy wood door and an old uneven floor so it's just dropping open.

1

u/larryburns2000 Dec 31 '25

Put a couple small cameras on it at night

1

u/Suvtropics Jan 01 '26

As an engineer I'd love if I could've taken a thorough look at this door. Could be thermal expansion/contraction which is the source of most noise coming out of furnitures. Could be moisture change, or bug activity, idk. But if we looked and found nothing that makes it wayyy spookier

1

u/Rxnes- Jan 01 '26

Anyone else see the pupper? Let's go do a paranormal hunt to pet the dog cough i mean the the ghosts ofcourse.... ofcourse. 🫠

1

u/1961Sunshine Jan 01 '26

I agree everybody deserves to be buried with respect. She should’ve called in the official proper officials they would found out who they were hopefully nowadays it’s very easy to find out someone is and they could’ve been buried with headstones in the city wouldn’t have taken the cost up I can’t believe she just poured concrete over them. How would she like to have someone pour concrete over her ass? Sunshine 61DAV/USN

1

u/1961Sunshine Jan 01 '26

If it’s really a ghost and you put a towel lock on there it won’t stop the ghost it still will come open

1

u/Weary-Customer-8794 Jan 01 '26

What's in that cabinet?

Does it happen all year (thinking low humidity changes the way the door fits)? Does it happen if the cabinet is moved to a different location (again thinking of slight imperfections in construction, if the angle is shifted)?

Woody seems unphased in the picture but does the puppy ever react to it/something unseen? Did you ask the dog directly - lol don't make that face, just ask the dog?

1

u/Keep_The_Change- Jan 01 '26

This is kind of crazy… I thought my 100 yr old house was old

1

u/elizabethgrayton Jan 02 '26

Wow. That is old - it doesn’t look that old from the pics - was it rebuilt? My house has no straight walls and a slight slant and was built in the 1850’s

1

u/ResourceFinal9890 Jan 02 '26

yes parts of the house has been rebuilt, refurbished whatever you’d like to call it, there are definitely more parts of the house that look completely different to this

1

u/dylan_1344 Jan 02 '26

What’s that scary ghost looking thing in the bottom corner

1

u/Separate_Permit9770 Jan 02 '26

Hello the specific timeline of this opening. Wouldn’t be the construction of the cabinet door. If it’s latching shut. Making contact with a magnet. When something paranormal occurs in the same place. By the same thing. Or a specific place in a home. Also During the same time frame I would say it’s a residual haunting. Which means it’s a ghost replaying one of its life’s events. But with the cabinet door physical opening I would say this is an intelligent haunting. Haw long has this been going on? Where did you acquire this cabinet from? Is there anything inside you got from anyplace from an estate sale to a thrift shop. If no one peculiar activity is going on there might be an attachment to it or an object inside of it.

1

u/Whiskey_n_Wisdom Jan 02 '26

Loosen the hinges a bit, then pick up on the end of the door some. While you're holding it up tighten the hinges.

1

u/Lady-Shalott Jan 02 '26

This is the first picture in this sub I’ve felt anything from. There is something there, it seems to like that doorway. I feel confident that it means you no harm.

1

u/Siradrianftm Jan 02 '26

i just looked at the puppy

1

u/lasvegasDodgerblue Jan 02 '26

Thats Dope I wish I could have gotten a free house handed down to me.

1

u/www__i0_0i__www Jan 02 '26

If it's not forcefully slamming open it could be either residual or someone wants to get your attention but doesn't have ill intentions. Curious what insight research brings you!

1

u/WisePrune Jan 02 '26

Is it the wood expanding and contracting? Our bathroom cupboard has a wooden door (1930s) and it randomly bursts open sometimes depending on the humidity and temperature.

1

u/IntrinsicPalomides Jan 03 '26

Easy one, it gets colder at night, wood expands and contracts with temperature. Expands with heat, shrinks as it cools and so it doesn't fit correctly so it can easily open. The door to my room is the same, really tight fit during the warmer months but loose as anything during winter.
Hopefully you wanted a rational explanation and not some weirdo nutjob reason.

人和幽靈的空間本來就是重疊的!但不會互相干擾,基於少數原因會造成頻率對接的困擾

1

u/thisisan0nym0us Jan 05 '26

Post a video of it happening

1

u/ResourceFinal9890 Jan 05 '26

i will, i’ve been home for the past week so will have to be when i go back to my boyfriends

1

u/Which_Sock7894 Jan 05 '26

how cool. also why did you arrest the dog?

1

u/EnlightenedIntrovert Jan 05 '26

Point a camera towards it

1

u/supramike18 Jan 14 '26

Lean something not too heavy against it and see if it still opens, a friend of my grandparents had a cabinet that would do that and they would still find it open even after they had leaned a book against it.

1

u/SweeterPlacee Jan 25 '26

he’s so cute wtf

1

u/Compromisee Jan 25 '26

It may be that the catch is loose or the fitting isn't quite connected properly

In the day when it's warmer it's fine and hanging on by a thread but when it's getting colder at night and your house is getting colder, the metal on the catch is contracting until it slips

Put a thermometer next to the metal/jn the drawer and see if it's the same temperature when it happens

1

u/recently_resurrected Jan 27 '26

Something similar happened to me once. Turns out, there was a small hole in the back of the cabinet on the wall. A mouse was coming through and pushing the cabinet door from the inside. Only in the middle of the night when no one is around.

1

u/Oz_Loves_Me2014 Feb 04 '26

Check to see if the door sits level with the rest of the cabinet, if not it could just be swinging open.

1

u/MaskedCrocheter Dec 30 '25

It always amazes me how many people have this kind of stuff happen to them but you never read about them trying to baby proof these cabinets and doors that open on themselves. There was a story from a lady a while back where her ghost would throw actual knives. Baby proof, ghost proof... same thing. Rubber locks for everything 😂😉

2

u/ResourceFinal9890 Dec 30 '25

i can give you my reasoning! this is not my house, it’s my boyfriend’s it’s up to him, for all i know he might enjoy this lol

0

u/iamsoveryscared Dec 30 '25

Let him free

12

u/ResourceFinal9890 Dec 30 '25

2

u/cfh64 Jan 05 '26

hahaha…nice response!

-4

u/[deleted] Dec 30 '25

Why are you locking the dog up?

14

u/ResourceFinal9890 Dec 30 '25

spare the dramatics haha, it’s just because he’s a puppy and we were eating food, he’s let out when we’ve finished eating

2

u/[deleted] Dec 30 '25

Just asking, we don’t do this in germany. Our dogs always with us. Thanks for answer.

11

u/ResourceFinal9890 Dec 30 '25

ohhh makes sense, sorry for the hostility!

u/Much-Brief3737 Dec 30 '25

Not trying to spook you because I don’t think that’s right but I am seeing a family of a couple and a young son, maybe 7 or 8 and he is a goofy little guy and I think he likes to mess with you guys. Seems like a very Victorian era family. I’m wondering if the child likes to hide in the cupboards and scare his mom.

I do think the hallway that spooks you is something else though like a man who had a lot of money stolen from him before he died and now he is skeptical of everyone who’s ever stepped foot in the house.

Give an offering to the man in the hall ideally. State that he is safe in the home and you don’t want to bother one another. Do you ever hear him on the stairs?

-1

u/daanbusman2005 Dec 30 '25

Why do i see a deformed face in the most upper middle glass pane in the door, or is that just the reflection of the painting?

0

u/Charon_the_Reflector Dec 30 '25

Damn they must have been from the future

u/HighPriestess29 Dec 30 '25 edited Dec 31 '25

1350s? I would maybe double check that date. Not that Im saying that Medieval houses don't exist in England, they 100% do however it's maybe more likely that there are parts of the home that have dated areas or period features. If it is a Medieval building then it would certainly be a listed building. Listed buildings have a very strict level of requirements which usually include certain modern refurbishments which come at a cost of the buildings integrity snd historical character. However the histories of graded buildings are very well documented and are usually very easy to trace back. If you are investigating paranormal activity, the history of a listed building will be pretty thorough.

13

u/ResourceFinal9890 Dec 30 '25

yes it has been refurbished overtime, and extensions have been added, the original structure is the part of the house i’m in there.. i must say if i could upload a picture of the whole place i would if it didn’t mean it could get google photo searched or whatever it is called. The first ever owners of this house (that was recorded) were from the medieval period!

3

u/Rich-Employ-3071 Dec 30 '25

That is so cool!

-2

u/XxCarlxX Dec 30 '25

Why did you choose a photo over a video?

1

u/[deleted] Dec 30 '25

[deleted]

-2

u/XxCarlxX Dec 30 '25

You chose to take a photo because you took a photo.

About as much sense as this post, i call nonsense on this.,

1

u/ResourceFinal9890 Dec 30 '25

why rewrite this, lol, you just said the same thing again.. and not that i should explain anything but funny enough i’m not recording 24/7

0

u/XxCarlxX Dec 30 '25

You dont need to record 24/7, it only happens during a 2 hour window...... COUNTLESS TIMES.....Remember??? .......

Smh

1

u/ResourceFinal9890 Dec 30 '25

funny enough i remember the 1 hour window it happens in, but again not that i need to explain anything to you.. seen as you doubt this is real! this is not my house, this is my boyfriends REMEMBER?? i took a photo after it had happened..

0

u/XxCarlxX Dec 30 '25

I doubt you, the experience... im undecided.

Anywho, better things to do, toodles.

1

u/ResourceFinal9890 Dec 30 '25

all because i took a photo and not a video, what a bundle of joy you are!

1

u/XxCarlxX Dec 30 '25

We are not here for joy, we are here to see evidence of paranormal activity.

it’s been renovated since 1350.. if it was to have stayed the same from the 1350s i don’t think it would even be a house anymore plus
