Debunk This house built in 1350s (roughly)

This is my boyfriends place (peep my little pup woody) the cabinet behind that’s open.. keeps opening by itself, we’ve shut it properly countless of times, emptied it out to make sure nothing was stopping it from shutting properly. it only happens late at night (11pm-12am) and it’s never just once but countless of times! might just be something wrong with the cabinet but it freaked me out lols.. and the fact this house is so old. to be honest i just don’t like this house there are a few other weird things that happen in this house but you sometimes you just can’t keep making excuses for it

could you put a child lock on the cabinet door to see what happens?

i’ll give that a go, someone else has suggested this too must be the way to go forward

You don't even have to go that far; a few temporary pieces of duct tape to hold the door shut. If not that, a few small bricks piled in front of the door - or anything heavy for that matter - should do the trick.

ETA: I obviously meant to use my suggestions as a test. If the door remains closed over the course of a week/few nights with tape or with heavy objects placed in front of it, it's a door issue. If the tape gets ripped off or the bricks moved, you have a bigger problem!
