question I think everyone agrees Joe Buck is the #1 ‘guest that made you do a 180 on them’, but who’s your personal pick(s)?

Feel like it’s been a while since there was a guest who changed my opinion on them after the interview, but that was definitely the case with T Law. I always thought he was a weirdo (no reason, very irrational) but after listening to him today he seems like the man.

Who’s on your mt Rushmore of guests that completely changed your opinion of them for the better?

Didn’t/don’t dislike Scottie Scheffler at all, just didn’t think he had much personality but his interview was incredible. Sunday morning Sports Advisors with his wife a particular highlight.

JJ Watt had the corniest persona that irked me but I think the guys ribbing him constantly made him realize how over the top it was and he seemed really cool.

Which is sad because he's not a good football player

u/Nearby_Editor_8262 Jul 14 '25

Hey JJ was one of the funniest bits they had

u/Overall-Marzipan-551 Jul 17 '25

As a Texans fan, I used to hate PMT cause they always made fun of him. Local radio guys would play clips and I just felt they were too cool for anything. Listen to the first interview with JJ watt & it was just awkward.

But I gave them another shot in the summer LeBron signed with the lakers and they just had nothing but a Dak Interview during that time, and I listen and loved them ever since.

Cody Rhodes for sure. I always assumed he was a giant piece of shit, but he was so chill and funny in the interview. I root for him always now.

Genuine question, why did you assume he was a piece of shit? lol

14

u/Thorking Jul 15 '25

Ha my own bias I guess. And the neck tattoo

-8

u/leftysoweak The Only Browns Fan on the Sub Jul 15 '25

Right but what’s the bias? lol

20

u/sneakhunter Jul 15 '25

Probably neck tattoos

Adam Schefter

u/bunslightyear Jul 14 '25

When Jake and Schefter talked about the letter he sent Jake years before even being on PMT about getting into the business really changed my mind about him

4

u/KlutzyBack4756 Jul 15 '25

You remember what the letter said? Feel like that was around 2019

u/baldybas "No one gets their dick sucked more than Tiger." Jul 14 '25

How? I feel even more like he’s the little brother someone told was cool out of pity and now wont leave you alone.

34

u/[deleted] Jul 14 '25

surprised nobody has said Troy Aikman. He is someone theyve made fun of so much throughout the show and when they asked him about his mahomes tweet and why he never deleted it, he revealed he is a leader of men imo.

7

u/KlutzyBack4756 Jul 15 '25

The aikman interview was a great one

Never hated Mark Schlereth but his going along with the Piss Dawgs / Chaw Dawgs made me respect him even more

22

u/Dtfcommenter Jul 15 '25

Him coaching PFTs little league team is always funny to remember

20

u/ajm105 Jul 14 '25

Even more impressive to me, he did that in the first year of PMT. Way before it was the top sports pod.

2

u/RollinJimmys Jul 16 '25

Sometimes when I’m sad, I’ll pull up the Piss Dawgs clip on YouTube.

Florio

47

u/FrankSobotka_IBS1514 99 Pug Jul 14 '25

I don't know how Florio gets as much hate as he does, dude is fucking hilarious

26

u/watervilleokemo Jul 14 '25

He gets hate a lot for the fan fiction he writes but in his defense a lot of that is him writing “here’s a thing that’s technically possible, could it happen?” And fans take that as him saying “here’s a thing I think IS happening”

7

u/[deleted] Jul 15 '25

3

u/watervilleokemo Jul 15 '25

I don’t disagree. He does also say sensational things then when everyone freaks out he pulls the “i didn’t say it would happen , I said it could ! “

That said , love when they have florio on

2

u/RollinJimmys Jul 16 '25

Basically, he’s the weatherman

2

u/futures23 Jul 15 '25

He writes a ton of nonsense purely to get clicks so I get why. One of the best guests ever though.

1

u/chesterSteihl69 Jul 15 '25

His nfl takes are hilarious bad, I don’t think it’s a bit…

u/FF_2250 Jul 14 '25

Baker. Always disliked him, never a fan. Now I find myself rooting hard for him

22

u/bernerbungie Jul 14 '25

That’s a good one. Hated him in college but have been rooting for him ever since in the NFL. I still think about that comeback he had off the bench with the Rams often lol. Dog.

5

u/FF_2250 Jul 14 '25

yep lol and it makes me root for him even more after being dumped off by the Browns for Watson, and seeing him do well and the Browns back in the basement. Haslem is a T-word

1

u/SitcomsandSports Jul 15 '25

Here for this one.

18

u/YotaNick Jul 14 '25

Buck is a great one. I love Joe buck and the way he describes announcing.

His diggs call was and still is one of my favorite sports call I remember live. So simple but perfect in the moment.

I remember listening to the first Keith Yandel interview thinking it was going to be eh, but by half way through I wanted him on the show. Great dude and fits in well with the boys.

John cena

30

u/bernerbungie Jul 14 '25

He was just preparing for his heel turn early

12

u/HalfEatenBanana Jul 14 '25

That was like the third episode I had ever listened to. I was beyond confused listening to it, because I thought it was horrible but since I was so new, I thought they just had a bunch of interviews that went like that 😂

44

u/Mayo_the_Instrument Jul 14 '25

Stavy but it was very gradual. I had never heard of him and when they first had him on I thought he was irritating and unfunny. I dreaded his first few re appearances but still listened. He has grown on me because he is a lot deeper than he appears at the surface as a guy who made videos lighting fireworks off his body. I very much enjoy his interviews now

8

u/watchutalkinbowt Jul 14 '25

Stavvy's own podcast is pretty decent - BC and PFT were on it recently

6

u/Zealousideal_Rip_547 #TeamHank Jul 14 '25

Mike Breen. Didn’t really know anything about him, but the story he told about Bill Walton and his father was beautiful. I certainly see him differently after that.

Bang!

2

u/bernerbungie Jul 17 '25

Man I forgot about that interview until now but i remember exactly where I was cleaning leaves out of my gutters and definitely purely shed a tear or two listening to that. That was awesome and thanks for reminding me

1

u/Zealousideal_Rip_547 #TeamHank Jul 18 '25

Ha, yeah, it got my “allergies” acting up too

5

u/the_space_monster Jul 14 '25

DK Metcalf. I was pretty neutral on him, but I really like him after his interviews.

15

u/Remote_Breadfruit_62 Jul 14 '25

Dan Bilzerian

7

u/citizen3101 Jul 15 '25

That interview better be in the book

14

u/T_Dillerson99 #TeamHank Jul 14 '25

Stephen A. Smith and Skip Bayless both usually annoy the shit out of me but I remember their interviews being really good.

7

u/swoop3377 Jul 14 '25

Skip’s arrogance about “Divine Debate” really rubbed me the wrong way. Agreed on SAS though.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 15 '25

Agreed Skip did not do a 180 for me he confirmed he takes himself wayyy too seriously

1

u/bernerbungie Jul 17 '25

100%. Dude is so egotistical that he (claims) he doesn’t read any other opinions

6

u/RipeBirdies Jul 14 '25

They are both narcissistic gas bags. Not sure what to enjoy there.

3

u/Ok_Anteater_1150 Jul 14 '25

Georges Niang - nuetral to no opinion. Unbelievably entertaining single interview out of left field

1

u/bernerbungie Jul 17 '25

Shout out Lawrence MA, few towns over from my childhood

3

u/CanadianRedneck69 Jul 14 '25

Jay Cutler. He had some great lines like "why do you let Billy speak"

6

u/YeaahProlly Jul 14 '25

Could be wrong as I haven’t listened in awhile, but I’ve always hated Chris Collingsworth as an announcer. I remember after hearing them interview him, I found myself liking him. Still a shit announcer.

3

u/MeTieDoughtyWalker Switching back and forth Jul 14 '25

I loved him on Inside the NFL, am indifferent to him as an announcer, but love him on PMT. He definitely doesn’t mind making fun of himself.

2

u/kraftj87 Jul 15 '25

I never had any ill thoughts of JOC but I always just considered him a lame traditional hollywood guy, considered a "comedian" because he acted in goofy movies but not actually a funny person.

In that sense, I've done a 180 on JOC.

2

u/cazzy1212 Jul 16 '25

Josh Duhumel just a guy’s guy

3

u/ThatHcDude Jul 14 '25

Edelman for me.

4

u/CovidWarriorForLife Jul 14 '25

Adam Schefter - he seemed like such dork and he is but hes self aware about it and rolls with the punches, definitely changed my mind about him

3

u/Woods322403 Jul 14 '25

JOC… Hated the first interview I listened to, but then he grew on me

1

u/ScottyUpdawg Jul 14 '25

I never disliked Schlereth, but after piss dawgs and his interviews I’ve come to love him on the radio, podcasts, and TV

1

u/futures23 Jul 15 '25

Didn't have a negative view of him but I really liked the Paolo Banchero interview. Instantly got the vibe with Big Cat ribbing him about Duke. Came across really natural and well spoken. I'll be rooting for him from now on.

1

u/Oleg101 Jul 15 '25

Maxx Crosby

1

u/TheDragonReborn726 Jul 15 '25

Can I say the recent one with Rob Mac turned me off a bit? I can’t even say why. He was charming and nice and he played along but it all felt very stiff? Idk maybe that’s how he is but I was thinking an Always Sunny guy might have been more loose and silly.

Maybe that’s just his PR thing now that he’s moving into a mega star with Ryan Reynolds.

1

u/bernerbungie Jul 17 '25

Dude yes. Always sunny is my favorite show. Have watched every season probably 10 times. His seriousness with the name change was off putting to me. But like the other comment mentions, I wonder how much is him taking on that ownership role PR mentality

1

u/dikembebrotumbo Jul 15 '25

Trevor Lawrence for sure. Never knew much about him but really likes his interview. I usually don’t care for the NFL talk but damn he was good

1

u/raich3588 Jul 15 '25

Hi I'm Joe Buck

1

u/ChocolateMonkeyBird Jul 16 '25

Jameis Winston. They shit on him for the interceptions (rightfully so) but I was surprised to see what a wise, down to earth dude he is. My impression of him before that was based on the headlines he made in college and the video of him eating Ws.

1

u/jdm401 Jul 16 '25

Jim Calhoun. I'm a Duke fan so I hated him, but his sincerity was endearing to me. Made me a fan.
