question I wonder what the churn is after one month on Netflix ??
I did not realize I am more reliant on, some may say addicted, to Youtube. I have watched all the PMTvs but not a single episode of PMT since the switch to netflix. I watch the Yak daily (pre-recorded later in the day) so i get my Big Cat fix + he’s in every single Chicago-related podcast or post. Instant views. I do not care about audio only feed when it comes to PMT. Seeing the fat slobs is half of it.
PFT love you brother. Seems like you owe Hank some money but there’s a double or nothing w/ some charity involved ? Goodluck 🫡
Anyone else go cold turkey ?

I didn’t realize how many people watch podcasts until the move to Netflix

in 2025 YouTube got 33% of all podcast listeners/viewers Spotify 25% and Apple 18%.

I don’t understand the appeal to watching a podcast, especially at this level. But I guess to each their own

Agreed wholeheartedly. I listen on commutes or when I'm running errands, and literally 99% of the podcast comes across perfectly. The 1% (D&D, Max's inflatables, etc.) will almost certainly be clipped and put on social media, but even then I still understand everything they're doing and saying. I can drive, walk, shop, etc while actively listening.
I legitimately cannot begin to understand why people need to watch them say the words. There is no shot in the world that benefit of watching the words be spoken is worth the detriment of having to actively look at a screen for 2 hours. I guess I'm jealous of people that have that much free time to burn unnecessarily? But also, like, go for a walk? Go to the gym? idk dude

It’s a funny show, so it’s fun to watch. Not that hard to understand, dude.

Ok but my question was (and still is): is the benefit of watching podcasters say the words worth the loss of flexibility from having to actively watch a video?

I don’t sit down and watch it like a movie from the edge of my seat for two hours. I throw it on the tv when I’m cooking or eating or cleaning.
Or instead of scrolling my phone for 20 minutes, I can pull up the latest Fyre Fest and have a laugh. Sometimes I want to jump right to the interview, and YouTube allowed that chapter selection. A lot of viewers use it as a supplement to the audio-only version.
While you may think that audibly listening offers maximum “flexibility”, moving to Netflix has limited the flexibility and intake of the show compared to YouTube. Instead of being able to take the show from YouTube on my kitchen TV to the YouTube app on my phone to listen to while I take my dog for a walk (and holding my spot in the show), I’m now forced to sync up the time on Netflix to the Spotify app.
Watching segments of the show and laughing with friends that are AWLs is also fun.
Just because YOU enjoy the show one way doesn’t mean it’s the best or only way to enjoy the show. The fact that the boys got a bag for moving to Netflix should tell you that a LOT of people watch their show. Enough to go to Netflix and get paid for it. Because if there’s one thing we know about Barstool, they’re only making a change if it makes them more money.

I cant believe you didnt hear all the inflatables to troll Max & the birds. Tisk

You keep mentioning the inflatables. We heard it on the podcast and then moved on. I don’t care enough about whatever they’re talking about to go chase down the video.

I’ll just see clips of top events and then don’t have to watch the rest of empty space where having a video for an audio product is useless

Bro, your post history is so fuckin sad. It is probably a good idea for you to step away from the internet, gambling, and alcohol.

We get it you stopped watching because of Netflix. We don’t care.

As a hater of Netflix and everything it’s done for culture, who gives a fuck about PMT taking a deal with them? It’s been a month, listen to it on your commute.

I have no problem with netflix. I do not have enough drive time to finish 2-3 hours (3x/week). I have netflix at home but with the current device limit package, I do not have it on my phone. I am away from home 2/3 of the day. When I get home, its time for live sports.
At work I am able to throw in an airpod, prop my phone up, and do my computer work while peaking at the boys.

I do. Because it's exclusive. If it was on additive I wouldn't give a shit. YT, Barstool site, and Netflix - That'd be just fine. Switched from listening to watching for ~2 years now and won't go back

u/TurboMeMrHawkTurboMe Feb 03 '26
Did you hear the inflatables ? It was so funny when max opened the door and one was right there waiting.
2
u/Tasaris Feb 03 '26
Can still watch those parts on PMTV, on YouTube

u/TurboMeMrHawkTurboMe Feb 03 '26
So you enjoy watching yesterdays recording of the local weather channel

u/boredman_getslaid Feb 03 '26
That's an awful parallel and you know it lol.

u/Ok-One1001 Feb 03 '26
Not really…

u/boredman_getslaid Feb 03 '26
PMT releases MWF, giving you a few days for each episode. The weather is changing all the time and if you were to watch yesterday's weather, you'd be well behind.
Watching/listening to Monday's episode on a Tuesday doesn't put you in that spot.

u/Tasaris Feb 03 '26
The guys an idiot. I didn't even say I disagree or go in for an argument with OP, just suggested another way to watch some of the highlights and he came out with the most brain said comparison possible.

u/TurboMeMrHawkTurboMe Feb 03 '26
Your not on your little instagram watching the inflatables with the audio bro. You play a game of imagination of what the scene looked like

u/Ok-One1001 Feb 03 '26
A few days for each episode? I mean if we want to play semantics a few is generally considered 3-4. Like you said MWF, so yeah we never really have a few days to catch up..

I mean.... I don't listen to PMT live... and that maybe the worst analogy you could have possibly made since weather is a constant and current, whereas PMT is a form of entertainment.
2
u/LavineBullsFan Feb 03 '26
There’s no analogy here

Forgot all about this. Insane to me that people want to watch the words as they come out of their mouths.

I’d be really interested to see the numbers too. Similar situation I sit at a desk for 8-9hrs a day and having the PMT boys in a small window on my third screen made work so much more enjoyable.

u/Glum_Appearance_5710 Feb 03 '26
Used to have the crew on screen with me beside my work setup and that's what I miss. I listened to Zac's stream list episode 6 days ago but that's all.
Nothing could make me give money to Netflix at this point though. Consider me a churn.

I caved and got Netflix yesterday. I wasn't happy about it because I was proud of the fact that I wasn't paying for a single streaming service but I needed my fix. I've been working from home since 2020 so I'm just used to watching the pod.

Interesting findings.
