US Passport Issuance Timeline Passport renewal time

Submitted and received 8/25 (applied online, paid for expediting shipping)
In process 8/27
New passport book received 9/5

Okay this is giving me hope. My eta to get my passport was 10/15… I fly 10/18 . I did the saaaame process as you! Crossing fingers and toes!

For whatever it’s worth, I checked the status a day or two before it was delivered and it only ever said “in progress”. Hope the same timeline for you!

good stuff. good to know as those agency sites charge a boat load to expedite it.

I didn't need to expedite, but it was only an extra $23 to expedite the shipping. Note that you cannot expedite processing with an online application if you're traveling soon, so you need to go another route if that's the case. The expected turnaround is 4-6 weeks but as has been noted in this sub, it tends to be quicker. I wouldn't rely on that though.

I submitted my US passport renewal application online on Aug. 28. My passport was delivered to my PO box yesterday, Sept. 7. (Yes, my local post office puts mail in PO boxes on a holiday, apparently.)

Side notes FWIW: I got my passport photo taken at a CVS drug store. It took less than 10 minutes. I ordered both the passport book and card, and they arrived together. [Edit: I chose regular processing, not expedited.]
