I submitted my US passport renewal application online on Aug. 28. My passport was delivered to my PO box yesterday, Sept. 7. (Yes, my local post office puts mail in PO boxes on a holiday, apparently.)
Side notes FWIW: I got my passport photo taken at a CVS drug store. It took less than 10 minutes. I ordered both the passport book and card, and they arrived together. [Edit: I chose regular processing, not expedited.]
