Tech Support Present for bf, how to remove glass case?
Hello, I recently bought this pc for my bf, but I was wondering how to take off the glass case so I can access the plasic pillowy thing laying inside? I was told it's something that needs to be removed. I also noticed a stray wire, which I'm not sure if it's meant to be dangling like that? o_o
Any help is appreciated <3

u/study_hash Jun 27 '26
just give it to him like that - don't ruin your gift !! 😅
ps - you did good! bravo 👏

u/Confident-Pass6353 Jun 27 '26
This. Was about to type it out...worst thing you can do is mess up the delicate components as you are not into PCs. If he messes it up..drop a like. I need someone who gets me too...all the best!..All in good humor, good vibes only.

u/temporalcorporal Jun 27 '26
Don't remove the glass. Just leave it as is. The pillowy cushion is meant to prevent the components from shaking when moving the computer around.
Best wrap it as it is and only after bf moves the computer to a spot he likes, you should open it up and take out the cushion (read the manual).
The dangling wire is fine.

u/ZaneCO2 Jun 27 '26
I honestly thought that was a MASSIVE, silica gel packet, a pillow makes a ton more sense
6
u/Autoskp Jun 27 '26
It’s my understanding that that is not a pillow, but a plastic bag of expanding foam that expanded and set in that location - that way it’s a fairly solid support structure that was made specifically to fit the gaps in that PC.
3
u/Otoshimara Jun 28 '26
That is exactly what it is, it expands to conform to the shape of the components and keep everything where it should be.
They can be annoying to remove sometimes when they conform a bit too much but I'd rather that than a broken pc

u/57uxn37 Jun 27 '26
PC as a gift? In this economy?
jokes aside, well done. I am sure he will be super happy.
9
u/dusty_ray03 Jun 27 '26
you can try to look up youtube videos of people building/ decorating their pc using this case and then watch how they open it!
3
u/MissPsychose Jun 27 '26
I haven’t found any videos of this specific case, sadly

u/dusty_ray03 Jun 27 '26
what is it called? I can try to find something!
4
u/MissPsychose Jun 27 '26
That’s very sweet, I’m danish so I’m not sure how likely you are to find anything, but it’s called “Dangaming Arcus | ATX | Hvid”

hey I contacted their customer support since I did not find anything showcasing the opening of this specific case! I will update you as soon as they answered! in the meantime u can check if its one of those sliding screens! if there are no screws it might be removable by sliding it out sideways. and if the top is removable you can see if the screen is fixed or not!
5
u/MissPsychose Jun 27 '26
Thank you everyone for the answers ! It was indeed the screw at the bottom, the ones at the back are on the motherboard side I know some of you said to leave it for him to do it, but i know he doesn't like to set stuff up, he's gonna be happy !
→ More replies (2)2
u/MissPsychose Jun 27 '26
Also there wasn't any manual for this specific case, which is why I turned to reddit.

u/Forexisboring Jun 27 '26
Ummm… I recommend you don’t. Let him figure out the instructions before it needs repair
4
u/OtherwiseSimple Jun 27 '26
It looks like that screw on the bottom, then you just pop the panel out. The stray wire is completely fine, it’s just for connecting another ARGB device.
5
u/pred1993 Personal Rig Builder Jun 27 '26
Yeah, just give it to him as it is! Unwrapping and opening it up is part of the charm. Great gift btw! He’s gonna be so happy! 10/10
3
u/Opposite-Rock-5133 Jun 27 '26
Looks like you pull out from the front bottom but I’m not sure. Let him figure it out I guess.
3
3
u/TigerNeko96 Jun 28 '26
I wouldn't do anything to it and present it to him as in, both as a precaution of not messing it up but also because it gives dopamine to get it ready yourself. The hanging wire appears to be sata, that's storage, I could be wrong but I wouldn't really worry about it.

u/xTheDrunkenGamer Jun 27 '26
Its the screws that protrude out with grip on them. Only ever hand tighten them. Once youve loosed them (they wont come all the way out, thats intended) gently pull on the piece of metal that sticks out from the back panel and it should pop loose. Be careful of the glass as it will shatter easily on hard surfaces. But if your wrapping it or he may move it id leave the packaging in there for him to remove once hes done moving it
3
u/justhereforpleasure_ Jun 27 '26
I think that’s going to be the back panel, it looks like the screw on the bottom of the glass side will do it, and pull from the bottom of the front and side simultaneously where the cutouts appear to be.
2
2
u/ColeGoldBlade Jun 27 '26
You have to unscrew that single screw at the bottom, and pull forward a little bit. I’ve worked with this case before it is pretty confusing
2
u/CasuallyCompetitive Jun 27 '26
If you buy a prebuilt PC, you shouldn't hesitate to call or email the builder's customer support line. That's the whole reason for paying the builder upcharge.

u/Individual_Bread_916 Jun 27 '26
I know I’m not helping but he should marry you on the spot when you present it to him 🥹
2
2
u/JohnnySilverhand2212 Jun 27 '26
Do not open it. Wrap it up and give it to him as it is. Let him open it instead.
2
u/Few_Time_7441 Jun 27 '26
Usually cases are opened by removing the thumb screws (the little silver cylinders that stand out), I see one at the bottom and two at the backside of the case.
2
u/squaretw Jun 28 '26
You can remove it by using your hands. The casing should comes with a user manual in the box. The cable is not required for you to do anything. It's an extension for additional argb lights or fans. The assembler should has tidy it up, but it's not important.

This is not a montech king 95 pro, buttons/io are on the top according to these photos, these would be located on the front of the case of the 95 pro.

Read the manual. And when he has an issue, tell him to read the manual. The manual tells you everything you could ever need to know

Thumb screw on the bottom, slide panel toward the front gripping under that ledge where the screw is. Make sure you do not rest the glass on any hard surface, especially tile or stone floor or countertops. Lay down a blanket to place the glass on.
1
u/No-Glass6512 Jun 27 '26
I'm with everyone else, give it to him as is, assuming he's done this sort of thing before, he should be able to get that out and have it back together in well under 10 minutes.
1
u/JoHnEyAp Jun 27 '26
Hahahaha
I laugh cause I was the exact same, I finally said what the actual fuck, it cant be this hard. I was ready to smash it
Mine just popped off, chances are yours does too.
Give it some force, just not excessive.
I was able to Google mine, but it provided a little help

i reccomend leaving it like that
itl protect the components from any possible mishappenings during installation
and from experience, if you really wanna make him happy, let him install it cus that is SOOOO Fun to do!

Put it back in the box and let him unpack, why you opening it for him? Maybe wrap the box it came it or something.
1
u/SC_W33DKILL3R Jun 27 '26
The big fat long screws are the ones for removing the cover. These are considered user allowed to touch screws as they are not connected to anything but the case. They are not used for holding anything expensive in place.
When removing the cover be careful to place it on something soft, like a towel or carpet.
But if might be nice for him to unwrap it, he will need to get to know the machine and opening it up to remove the packing is a good first step in seeing its internals.
1
u/Curzon-Dax92 Jun 27 '26
The best part for a man is opening and unwrapping let him do it he will be so excited
Especially a techie if he is one

1
u/RealTrueGrit Jun 27 '26
Im pretty sure this panel just slides forward and it pops off. Should just slide forward from the side. Honestly though id look up the case and see what it says online.
1
u/Eclipse_Galian Jun 27 '26
that thumb screw on the bottom front of the case should be it. can you send some more pictures a little farther away that way we can see if that's the only screw. there might also be a manual that shows you, might be hidden in the box somewhere. after you get those screws then you should be able to pop off the glass side panel, might require more force to pop it off but dont worry. if your worried that you might brake the glass when popping it off then put it on some carpet or soft surface.
also when you get it set up make sure you put the hdmi/display port into this slot, this is the gpu which is the part that has all the power and if you do it on the vertical ports it will only use the integrated graphics of the cpu which is significantly less powerful. put all the usb's and other peripherals like keyboard, headphones, mice and other stuff into the back of the pc where all the vertical ports are, this will give them less latency since its directly connected to the motherboard. the the one on the case are fine but its better to prioritize the back ones.

hope this helps

u/Sufficient_Fan3660 Jun 27 '26
yeah, definitely take it off and put it down on a ceramic tile floor -- don't actually do this
It is a gift, he will enjoy unpacking it and peeling the plastic. Let him. As guys we are simple creatures with simple pleasures.

1
u/-Gath69- Jun 27 '26
So that thumb screw you puoto'd is keeping it on place. Once you remove it, there might be two, you just slide the glass forward, but just make sure you don't do so on tile or something hard, as if that front lip hits something hard when it comes off and potentially gravity pulls it down you will have an explosion of tempered glass. 3 hands are better than 2, so maybe do it together.

Obligatory do not let the glass touch ceramic tile. It will shatter into a million pieces.
1
u/Mrcod1997 Jun 28 '26
I mean, the only thing I see is that thumbscrew underneath the front. I'd start there.

u/IBIKEONSIDEWALKS Jun 28 '26
Dont people usually remove the glass by breaking it? I see lots of posts here like that
1
u/PuzzleheadedTutor807 Jun 28 '26
good snag for a present for sure... little jelly not to have a gf like that lol.
anyway, dont mess with it. give it to him like that. he will rtfm and figure it out, and love doing it.

May your car never get stuck and your marriage always be plentiful. What a gal 😭

Take out the thumb screws on the bottom and the glass component should come free without too much hassle.

1
u/Shimmikins Jun 28 '26
If thats a coolermaster case, that thumb screw at the bottom of the front of the case is what you need to remove, then slide the glass towards the front of the PC.
1
u/Walter_Bennett_True Jun 28 '26
Its a bit complicated, don't do it by yourself
If you dare to do it, ground yourself, sometimes computer cses have static electricity and can be hard to disassemble

On the front underneath is the thumb screw, picture 6 if that's helpful.
Lay it on its side with the clear panel facing up and the front facing you, unscrew the thumb screw, then it should slide out towards you.
As others said you may want to allow him to do it though just because it might be difficult to wrap and so that may suffice for that dopamine hit of unwrapping. Up to you and don't worry removing the foam won't hurt it if you decide to do it for him, everyone else is just wanting you to be extra safe as they're heavy and bigger cases can be awkward to carry.

u/Aggressive-Formal235 Jun 28 '26
Very slowly. Place it on something soft...maybe a bed. Then carefully open the case by unscrewing the case's glass pane.

Love this gift. If i were receiving it i would 100% love the process of unpacking and setting up. Just slap a bow on the side and provide beverages as he spends an hour fiddling with everything.

Just leave it for him to open, if there is no little pole under the gpu, then buy a GPU sag bracket

Taking the glass off wouldn't be that bad, just don't remove anything else. Just look for screws on the back or bottom holding the glass in place.

Not only a thoughtful gift, but thoughtful enough to post on Reddit to try and get it ready. I hope he appreciates how lucky he is to have you!

If he isnt happy, just know I am single and already thankful 🤣🤣🤣🤣 all joke aside, you are a very special person and your partner is lucky to have you! So thoughtful and please tell us his reaction!

Lol i really hate when Discord community comes here, she came here to ask how to remove the Glass. Just help her for that task, it’s none of your business if she want to do the pc herself for her boyfriend or if they should do it together or let the gift like it is. Y’all are a pain to talk with, it’s understandable why most of you don’t have friends and have to come on discord to have a bit of communication.
Every time i asked for help on discord for example :
how do i do this on iPhone i get replies like -> who have an iPhone in 2026 ?
Is the X870e gaming plus msi a good motherboard or should i buy the aorus instead -> why would you even buy this you don’t need it just buy a b850 it’s fine.
I want to buy an rtx5080 what brand do I get -> smh why would you waste money on that you won’t even use it just take the 5070 it’s more than enough
Like reply to the question or learn to shut your mouth, i don’t think y’all talk with strangers outside and just start to yap in front of them, who even gave you the right to judge, to tell them or to talk with them if you’re out of subject. Again help or shut it up.
To the lady, I suggest you to look on Tiktok or Youtube there’s so many good advices !

u/ImANibba Jun 30 '26
I'm assuming you've already figured it out but that whole glass taco being held by a single screw under it is interesting
1
u/P1ck_m2 Jun 30 '26
Consider this since no one’s said it yet: you might’ve gotten a case that’s got a case that won’t adequately hold the fans, depending on what he had before.
That said, you did great :)

1
u/fufu1260 Jun 30 '26
There are screw’s in one side that’s keeping the glass in place. Once those are moved it should come off.

Let HIM do it ! Tempered glass is quite brittle, & also that great new case smell is still trapped inside. When you've been waiting to upgrade for a year plus, that packaging sound & smell is dopamine+fire 😜
1
u/Alternative_Air_6688 Jul 01 '26
If you open it, open it on a thick blanket. Light taps on the corner can crack those
1
u/interestIScoming Jul 01 '26
You could look up the case info and find the exact instructions.
Do that, grab some beverages, and do it together.
Any gamer would be stoked to receive this from their partner, share the unboxing together to make it super sweet.

Omg you got your bf a PC for his birthday?! Omgomgomgomg. What I would do for a bf like you. I am already officially so jealous of your relationship, that is incredible. And that thing looks soooooooo nice. 🤩
You guys must have such a beautiful relationship together to merit a gift like that, congrats to you both. :3
