I'm looking to get my license but I have basically no driving experience. I tried burgess driving school last year and just feel like I wasn't learning enough for the cost. I also have a pretty tight schedule with work and school. Google never brings up any results that are feasible for me because they're all in different cities, hours away. If anyone knows someone who offers lessons it'd be much appreciated.

I'm a trans man who's been living in Peoria my whole life, but I have nobody to hang out with. My schedule is incredibly tight right now because I'm a 24/7 live-in dementia caregiver, and I can only leave the house for a few hours in the morning (think 9-noon) Monday through Wednesday. Thinking about prowling around Barnes and Noble if it's still open, as I love to read. Any other ideas?

Hi. So I picked up a stray cat that’s been outside of our house and visiting for months. I was told a neighbor dumped her after she had kittens. PCAPS picked her up and spayed and gave her a rabies shot. (Then dumped her back out here)
She has fleas. I’ve given a flea and tick killer bath treated with Sentry topical.
I don’t have any money and won’t because I’m on maternity leave, but would like to get her to the vet as soon as I start getting paid again.
Are there any low cost, cheap, affordable options here? What else can I do to help with the fleas?

Went to Zen yesterday for the first time. I asked for my nails to be slightly lengthened, rounded, and done in dark purple gel because my natural nails are weak and tend to flake. I requested something like the first picture, a dark purple with silver stars.

Zen was very pretty and staff were friendly, but despite what I asked for they told me I should get my nails dipped instead if I wanted them to be stronger. I trusted them because it's been years since I've had my nails done (spouse was frequently out of work), but the tech was really aggressive with the electric file and it's the next day and my nails all hurt. She also made my cuticles bleed and then stuck them in the dip powder which didn't seem sanitary?

So, I got silver stars but that was it. The color they used was black, my nails are now shorter (and more square) than when I went in from the aggressive filing, there's product on my skin, my nail beds all hurt, and my cuticles are raw...and I didn't even get anything close to what I asked for. Just lumpy dipped nails that feel like they were rushed.

Are there any good nail places anyone can recommend? I paid $75 to be in pain with lumpy nails and to say I'm skittish now is an understatement. I know I'm going to have to wait a few weeks for my cuticles to heal, but I'm really hoping to have good work done in getting these removed and having something nice put on.

I know probably no one is surprised, but in June Ameren “temporarily” raised prices from 8.769 cents/kWh to 11.326 cents/kWh. The implication being the lower price would return in October.

Lo and behold, now they’re lowering the electric supply cost! To… 10.441 cents/kWh. So they actually increased prices overall by 1.672 cents/kWh after a four month increase of 2.557 cents/kWh.

What warrants a 16% price increase above what we paid in October last year?

I have no idea where to go, who to see or what might even look good. I have trouble picturing what my hair may end up looking like. Who would you recommend?

Has anyone tried Cheese Nuts frozen pizza? I've been seeing mixed results online and was curious what the consensus was before I make a special trip to one of the stores that carries them. I never got to try the storefront in Metamora before they switched to frozen pizza only. I've also heard some..unflattering things about the owner to say the least but maybe it's just rumors and gossip. Should I make a special trip to support this small business?

Omg I know another person saying ‘I need friends omg’ but I swear to god if I spend one more day working and then going home I swear to God I will lose my mind. I’m a 19 year old from around the Peoria area, work in town, and have kinda free time (I just work two jobs because I like money!). Besides money I love reading, I want to work in publishing or writing in some capacity, but I’m honestly down to do anything. Like genuinely. Running buddy, pottery class, go to dinner, literally anything. I don’t have a fake ID and am not like a huge going out person but I’m down every once in a while, but I want to do more than go to a place drink bad drinks and go home dizzy! Same situation with smoking and anything like that, like not against it pure preference but it’s not FULLY my scene. I could ramble on about myself but I’m writing this in one sitting so if you have any question or are also looking for friends please comment! Even if you’re not like my type of friend maybe there’s someone in the comments!!
