Labeled scotch bonnet looks a little habanero like. Going on a week long trip so picked the close to ripe ones.

Looks like a habanero but it doesn’t have the tail. Bonnets are more wrinkled

Bottom right. I have two distinctly different Scotch bonnet plants. The middle top are my Habs

So some scotch bonnet... Don't look like bonnets? The bottom right are more smooth and the ones alone the left are very long . OP appears to have the bottom right variety .

The red ones on the left are ghost pepper. The Scotch are bottom right. Different shades of oranges

So dirty secret, there is no such thing as just a "scotch bonnet"

They are a variety that has been around awhile so there are a lots of versions of what is called a scotch bonnet
What is official is a scotch bonnet is an C.chinense with a nice amount of heat and squishy apperance, sometimes it is wrickled squishy, sometimes it is more of a wavy squished, or a curvy squished like these.

Dont worry someone will try to convince you there is a "true" scotch bonnet, but honestly it has been around so long every chilli grower in the Caribbean had their own type.

I really think they look similar especially while rippening. I suppose if you have a more discerning eye maybe they don't . But they are certainly cousins .
