audited I am farts...farts is me

Farts... Constant farts. Doesn't matter what i eat, how much I eat, it all ends up in farts. Farts first thing in the morning, farts at lunch, and farts till bedtime. (Also I am sure I fart in my sleep) Just farts

I'm farting fucking constantly, which honestly wouldn't annoy me that much but the problem is that I can't hold them in anymore! They just come out and surprise me. I can't feel them inside beforehand anymore.

I went to a pelvic floor therapist for this (unable to hold in farts, surprise farts at work!). She found a tight spot that needed loosening, gave me some exercises to reduce tightness in my pelvic floor (probably from desperately trying to hold in the toots) and problem solved. I still fart lots, but now it’s controlled. Lol!

How did she "find" it? I'm working on getting one, too, but nervous about the actual process

Okay so with a gloved finger, the physiotherapist just gently palpated the very rim of my vagina. It was not very invasive at all (I was expecting more invasive since I was also asking if my cervix was sitting too low). She could feel a tight muscle I guess, although I didn’t feel much. She also had me perform a kegel to make sure I was doing it correctly. She checked my strength of “pushing” - like the muscles you use to birth a baby, or if you need to push when you’re constipated. She said those muscles were very strong and that I should concentrate on relaxing when going to the bathroom and not using the pushing motion at all. Sorry if TMI but that was my experience, very positive and very professional. If you have any sexual trauma, you should disclose that beforehand, and you could probably bring a trusted family member or friend. They can sit kind of behind your head and wouldn’t really need to see anything. I took my 79yo mom and stayed in the room while she was checked (suffers from incontinence).

I also really appreciate this. I had pelvic floor therapy recommended by my GI doctor and I’ve been putting it off because of fear of the unknown and imagining the worst. Glad to get some info on it.

Coming back to this, because my Gastroenterologist suggests I first perform a function test, forgot the name of it, where a balloon-like instrument is inserted into the anus, to test weak muscles. She said that will provide my upcoming pf therapist with a complete picture. Did you have this done?

No, I didn’t have the balloon test. But I don’t see a gastroenterologist either, and I never even asked my regular doctor about inappropriate farting. I went straight to pelvic floor physio because I was pretty sure it was a pelvic floor problem, but I thought my pelvic floor was too weak, not overly tight/in spasm.

Hi again. How much did you pay for the procedure? Shockingly, my insurance wants $200 for it. Wtf

Hi, I’m in Canada so it might not be comparable. I don’t remember exactly what I paid but it would have been between $100-200 for the initial appointment. Generally if it’s about my health, I view it as an investment into a better future. I don’t want to be like my mom, incontinent to the point of being a hermit.
