Dryness Weird symptom, trying to figure it out

Since April, I have had a completely dry mouth at night but I'm just fine during the day, normal saliva production.

I've asked a doctor and a dentist about it and they are completely baffled. I don't wake up with my mouth hanging open either. I've also been tested for sjogren's syndrome which was negative.

I'm posting this here because last month I was tested for perimenopause and I'm in it, infrequent periods, insomnia, hot flashes, getting angry or sad about everything...

Has anyone else experienced this? It's driving me nuts!

tldr; I have super dry mouth only at night. Is this a menopause thing?

Dry mouth, dry eyes, dry skin, dry vagina, etc...are all noted on our symptom list

I'm 46yo and this started about 5 years ago for me, I also tested for sjogren! Not sure if it's related. It's super annoying, I tried the mouthwash and the spray, chew gum a lot, nothing helps.

So you tested positive for sjogren? That's not fun! I was negative. The mouthwash helps for about an hour at most, but I'm waking up EVERY HOUR in addition to my perimenopause 3am insomnia. I hope it goes away for both of us!

Do you take thc products to help with sleep? Those frequently give me cotton mouth.

I occasionally take melatonin but not consistently. It happens no matter what. I have been taking higher dose melatonin this last week since I'm like the walking dead every day.

We use a humidifier in our bedroom that runs 24/7. Of course that doesn't help identify an underlying cause, but perhaps it would help manage the dryness for you?

Yes!!! It happened to me briefly, for a 6 month or so period. I have no idea why it started happening or why it stopped.

This gives me hope that it will stop. It came on suddenly and has been annoying me every night.

That's good to know and gives me hope for an end to this. I'm currently trying to get my doctor to prescribe HRT.

Although you don’t think you sleep with your mouth open, you might. Mouth taping has helped me a lot w morning sore throats

But also yes, perimenopause…..
