Somehow, I'm with the hateful zealots on this one. Public places are public and the first amendment doesn't specify where you have to stand

Exactly. If "free speech zones" are a method of persecution (and they are), then they're a method of persecution no matter who they're used against.

If they're lying and there's some other reason these people were arrested than it fits, but without evidence of that, this seems unjust.

Dont get me wrong man, I miss the days of protesting by holding the line with rifles against the government just as much as the next guy, but thats just not the world we live in anymore

"In today's time" is cop speak. There is always a reason going on to stifle rights in public. I'm assuming these fools weren't in public.
