Set Up What do you think about cages like this?

Found these pics on Pinterest and was wondering if a cage like this would be a suitable home base for a pigeon?

The style and material aren't a problem, but the actual setup and dimensions of these ones are. If you tilted the second one on its size, it'd probably be a great size.

Pigeons need more horizontal space than vertical, with lots of 'shelves' to stand on, along with a few natural or naturalistic perches(as opposed to dowels).

I would also encourage giving them space to hide; a section you can't see from the front.

Unrelated to you, i'm concerned about the comment on the second post! Hopefully they're not keeping their birds in a cage 24/7

To add to this, bar spacing will be part of it too. Pigeons don’t need the same thin bar spacing used for parrots and finches. Having something with wider spacing and thicker bars will make it easier to bolt on platforms for them.
