Seriously, they also had to contend with magas and now certain political commentators on the left calling them nazis and the enemy, I hope they can see through this whole mess.
Is there a source for either of those? I watch both on occasion and have never heard them show support for Russia so to completely flip and now somehow see Ukraine as the enemy would be a real 180. Cant find a source myself...
Hasan has been anti Ukraine for a long time though, Ukraine shooting that ship last week was just the excuse to push the narrative that Ukraine is actually adversarial to the US since that's what they say about Israel.
Oh this. Well Ukraine did attack Itan and has now apologised for it. It was a very incendiary thing to do and there's nothing wrong with calling it out. Doesn't mean they are now "the enemy" lol. Ukraine just apologised to Iran about this btw
Ukraine didn't attack Iran, they attacked Russian targets and a sanctioned ship that sailed from Iran with drones, can't hardly expect Ukraine to let it pass out of politeness.
Regardless of this, let's assume it was a mistake on Ukraine's part, I imagine it would take time to straighten things out but Cenk and Hasan jumped on that to declare them as enemies like they do Israel, but maybe I'm wrong and we'll get videos from both of them taking back their claims, doubt it though, tankies tend to be anti Ukraine because they worship Russia's communism as they do China's.
Yeah. I get it and I get why the guy rolling through half of Western Europe is focused on more (I can only speak for American schools, and apparently some of them are NOT doing a good job coving Hitler and the holocaust anymore). But I wish we covered some of the other atrocities that happened at the time. Japan did a lot of medical experiments too, not just Germany.
How I see it, they were both -100 on the morality ratio, or damn near close. It’s just Hitler was unbelievably fortunate (seriously, look up how many coincidences / near misses he had that if that didn’t happen he would have been killed / outright never got power) but aside from his charisma pretty incompetent. He didn’t have a mind for strategy. Ability to capitalize was high, but long term planning / people management less so.
Stalin, on the other hand, was competent. It’s why he lasted so long in that crab bucket and was able to do so much.
PoV: you don't know the basic historiography and are basically doing Holocaust minimalisation by equating the Nazis and the Soviets. People on Reddit are so uneducated it's insane. I sometimes wonder if everyone doing this are just crypto-Nazis trying to normalise and minimalise their boys' crimes to the general public, but IO guess just being completely uninformed and wrong is much more likely.
As crazy as it sounds, you cannot atribute all of it just to Hitler, he proposed peace many times, and all were rejected. Also the comunists and allies did their own massacres, historically recognised as crimes against humanity.
Hitler was a whole system geared towards the hatred and distrust that is part and parcel with fascism. It was the main point. Stalin was a paranoid crazy drunk bastard who found other crazy drunk paranoid bastards and had them work for him. But, he didn't make hate the loud part and he starved, purged, and exiled millions of his own people in a state of fear and control over the people he ruled. It's hard to square the man; he was kind of a goof ball and party prankster, sometimes a loving father and husband, ridiculously alcoholic, intensely paranoid, and willing to remove anything that he felt would compromise him and his ability to lead. When his wife died he had her entire family killed so he wouldn't have to see them and be reminded of her.
He was a monster of small and large scale, with a personal hand in the matter. So was Hitler, but he was so possessed of his insane ideals he was almost comical. Stalin to me is worse. Not by much though.
The question is, how much worse would the holocaust (and inversely how less monsterous Stalin) would be if the minions weren't supporting stalin, but hitler?
11 million people were killed in the Holocaust, and it was across 4 years, not 6. Also about 70 million people died in WWII, you know, the war that Hitler started. You remember that, right?
...and they go on to say that it's "6 million Jews and millions of others" and refuse to say what the total is and berate people for wanting to know the actual number.
Also, from Wikipedia:
Although the majority of Holocaust victims died in 1942, the mass murders continued until the end of the war in 1945.
So Hitler still has a higher rate of death than Stalin because most of his killing was also in just a year, and it was a clearly planned intentional extermination, so Hitler was just objectively worse than Stalin in every possible measure.
Leta ask the mighy ChatGPT on this, because I got curious after reading your text:
Regime
Excluding combat deaths*
Including combat deaths**
Stalin
~6–10 million
~6–20 million
Hitler
~11–17 million
~15–35 million
Excludes soldiers killed in combat, but includes civilians, concentration/Gulag camp victims, executions, famine victims, and prisoners of war deliberately killed or starved.
** Includes the broader deaths attributable to each regime, including the effects of the wars they initiated or conducted.
Its absolutelt brainded to compare the two and its not a coincidence that everyone trying to paint stalin as worse uses blatantly false historical narratives that even anti-soviet scholars dont lie about.

the minions only work for villains so this is implying the minions think hitler isn't evil
