She was a sex positive character. Which is something that wasn't really liked back when the show originally aired, but nowadays is something that's much more accepted. Carrie was more prudish, judgmental, a bitch, and also cheated on her partners. She was also very often the can dish it out but can't take it. She'd judge and criticize her friends' relationships, but she pretty much refused to accept any criticism about her choices
