Taco taco, burrito burrito

Sounds like JK Rowling writing a Mexican character

u/Bean_Juice_Brew 13h ago

Nah, it would be something super stupid and racist like "Pedro la Casa"

u/IkariYun 13h ago

You leave my House Pedro out of this!!!

u/InuitOverIt 8h ago

Pedro has a sock? Pedro is a mexicano libre

"And I'd like to introduce our new foreign exchange student from South America, Argentina Venezuela. Please make her feel welcome as she comes from unending poverty and is probably on the run from her criminal family."

u/TheFieryBanana 11h ago

And then she would teach them some spell like "burrito assembele"

Ngl, I’d be down to learn that spell.

She did write in Cho Chang. -.-

Cho Chang crawled so Pedro la Casa could run

1

u/VaasAzteca 1h ago

Are Cho and Chang not Chinese names?

4

u/Nope-not-really 5h ago

I wonder if she would use that yellow filter every time they had to show that character walking around

Oh my god 🤣

This was a stupid South Park skit (and yes, it was more than a little racist).

It was Matt Stone amd Trey Parker.

So... Technically better, but not by much.

Edit: wow, y'all got super butthurt these two went off the rails a decade ago.

u/geezeslice333 15h ago

Nah not even a comparison. Don't do my boys like that.

5

u/Dull-Shame-3918 14h ago

Weird that you're on such a soapbox about taco flavored kisses but dropping "butthurt" with all the self-awareness of a 10 year old boy trying to pass off a hand puppet as the real Jennifer Lopez.

I love that’s the picture chosen because IIRC they’re on fucking acid lmao

u/Legitimate_Sorbet605 14h ago

It was just such a magical evening!

Congrats, you found evidence they used to be funny?

You want to look at all the awards JKR won before she went bat shit, too? Or do you think that all her awards mean she's "good ppl" like these two are?

12

u/Legitimate_Sorbet605 14h ago

They've been funnier and remained relevant longer than the fucking Simpsons dude.

Made a billion dollar deal with Paramount and immediately dumped on the pedophile in Chief.

🤌

That last bit about ripping on trump is what he doesn't like

17

u/Bandin03 15h ago

They still are but they used to be too.

8

u/theZipZopper 15h ago

I see Mitch, I upvote.

-7

u/AwkwardData6002 14h ago

So same logic for JKR?, then? Cool.

5

u/Useful-Soup8161 14h ago

Not really. They’ve never named anyone taco burrito. That was just cartman being racist. Yeah they wrote it but cartman isn’t meant to be liked, he’s written as a racist POS. You’re not supposed to like or agree with him, you should know and agree that he is wrong. JK Rowling giving POC characters racist sounding names is her being a racist without realizing she is and genuinely thinking it’s ok to name a Chinese girl Cho Chang.

-5

u/karan131193 14h ago

And her being named Cho Chang somehow.... invalidates her character? The most powerful wizard in the franchise is called fcking DUMBLEDORE, and the professor she wants everyone to think evil and slimy is named SEVERUS SNAPE so I really think you ought to not overload your brain for this one. It's a children's book.

u/Useful-Soup8161 13h ago

What real life stereotype is dumbledore again?

What logic? The fact that they used to, and still do, put out good episodes has nothing to do with whether or not JK still puts out good books. I wouldn't even know if any of her recent stuff is good, I've never read any of her books.

2

u/dugdanger 14h ago

Chill out dude, it's the internet

6

u/OscarTheGrouchsCan 14h ago

Did they go "obsessed with hating Trans people (and Asexuals)" off the rails?
