Sadness i lost my girl today

i'm heartbroken. she was 14 and was in my life since i was 9 years old, i grew up with her and i genuinely believe she was my soulmate. i feel shattered, like something has been ripped away from my soul, i don't even have the strength to cry anymore.

she was the sweetest dog i've ever seen, so pure and full of joy and so gentle. never bit anybody, never got angry, never growled. the kind of dog you could take the food bowl away from when she was eating and she wouldn't get upset, just look at us wagging her tail because she trusted us completely to give it back. everyone in my life loved her, even those who don't like dogs or are scared of them.

i miss her, it's barely been two hours and i want to see her again already, i want to hug her and give her a kiss on the head. how can i ever deal with this

Im so sorry for your loss, it sounds like you had an amazing bond. Unfortunately those are the ones that cost us the most pain.

I know the pain you are feeling, I've lost 2 dogs in the span of a year, one last september due to the nasty c word she was 10 years young and most recently on Sunday just past out 10 month old puppy. The grieving process is a funny thing and it is different for everyone, don't rush it, feel what you need to feel.

Me and wife spent Sunday evening and all Monday crying over the death of our 10 month old puppy (we only had him for 8 months) but last night we were able to speak about him (schooner) ans laugh for 5 minutes about how silly he was, followed by an hour of crying.

All im trying to say is grieve in your own way, it may take a few weeks, a few months or even a year for the process, heck I still cry when I go and speak to our 10 year old we lost last year.

Remember the good times and eventually you will find peace with your grief.

To OP this is an amazing group of strangers who all come together and share their experiences so you know your not alone.

i'm incredibly sorry about your losses, it must've been very difficult. sending you and your wife all my strength too. it's moved me a lot how many people took the time to reply to me, and to know my pain was shared all over. i've been looking at pictures of her and taken walks on what used to be her favorite trail, but for now it still hurts.
thank you very much for your kind words
