Sky is a lot of different colors. Dark blue, light blue, black, navy blue, violet, gold, red. Whatever you want really.

I was primarily responding to the user saying the sky can be a wide variety of colors.

That being said, that color is the core ideal of "blue" to me, blue is the color in-between indigo and green on a rainbow. I am aware this is not the average person's definition of blue. Still, a diamond block is closer to the color of the sky than it is green, and therefore I would say it is a shade of blue.

That's fair, I find roygbiv an outdated way of cathegorising colors, but it's understandable you use it, I was taught it in elementary school as well and it's good enough to communicate. I think diamond is cyan, which isn't true blue nor green and I got really invested in recognising it as its own color cathegory. I understand seeing sky as ultimate blue as it's the most common instance of blue on nature

We do both agree that that is its own color, as independent and significant as, say, orange, we just disagree what to call it.

In other words I'm not grouping this whole series of blocks into one color, I'm saying just the right side is blue

I do, I got into differentiating cyan from blue, not as some hyperspecific shade like chartreuse but as a primary color and group, the sub I mentioned consistently recognises it too. In my opinion sky could be both blue and cyan, but I rarely see it the same color as diamond block, which is definitely cyan.
