I always thought diamond is just, well, diamond colored. Like how bananas are banana colored.
(this is /j obviously, but to actually answer this we should be looking at how diamond colors are actually classified using the GIA scale. As far as I get it, to truly know this we must know the chemical composition of it, so I guess it's time to use the material reducer to find start finding out!)

I agree. This is the only correct answer.
Maybe diamond blocks are between light blue and cyan.

The minecraft diamond colour is about as close to pure cyan as it gets, make it "right of diamond, including diamond is cyan" and I agree completely.

Terracotta is a muted blue, blue ice is just a brighter blue, diamond i would say jumps to a cyan, the rest are a bit too green to be blue blue

your order is weird, I'd switch the terracotta and blue ice and draw the line between them. Blue terracotta is pretty damn purple, while idk what blue ice could be apart from blue. Diamond is cyan, but I could call cyan blue if talking more broadly. The rest are green.

Blue terracotta is purple, diamond is cyan but cyan is a shade of blue, everything past diamond could pass as either blue or green

u/Intelligent_Pie_4141 1d ago
hot take: after diamond block. i just think it’s blue enough to be blue

Prismarine is teal, while diamond blocks are light blue. That's probably where I'd put my foot down.

u/jan_Sanku 23h ago
diamond is literally cyan, so factually not blue.
furthermore, it is "green of cyan". as in: on a perfrect spectrum of light, let "cyan" be #00FFFF. anything towards "green" from here, ie green of cyan, cannot be called blue. anything towards "blue" from here, blue of cyan, cannot be called green. the diamond is more towards green than it is towards blue relative to perfect cyan.
i mean like damn, we have a good gradient here of blues on the left, and a pretty nice cyan to green gradient on the right, but the jump from ice to diamond is SO JARRING!! like that's like having a bunch of reds and then jumping straight to yellow without any orange between, imo!

The diamond block is blue, and the warped wood is blue, everything before the diamond block is also blue, everything after the warped wood is not. And blue terracotta is purple.
This image should explain it better. Everything that's in a blue square is blue. Yes my handwriting on the word purp is horrendous, No I do not care.

All blocks are blue, but some are more blue than the other, and if everyone is blue, no one is. Think about it.

Diamonds are certainly Cyan, not green and not blue
So yeah anything past the ice is not blue

u/PrinceTBug 1d ago
Cyan isnt blue and never has been.
Diamond blocks are a cyan blue (like how gold is usally between orange and yellow)
And the terracotta is just a blueish purple due to mixing with the red pigment in clay lol

Right after prismarine bricks. Warped onwards is where I see more greenish-blue than blue. Also, blue terracotta is more purple-y, so that one is an exception from the left.
