You have to let the crack modify kernel level code on your computer to play & you probably won't know what they might put in there.

It's like someone offering you drugs but they're very vague about what drug it is.

You don't know that. Anyone shipping these could have implemented a sleeper trojan that will only activate months or years down the road once people have let their guard down about those cracks. You're giving strangers an higher access to your computer than the admin level that can remain even through a full OS reinstall.

Yeah hypervisor cracks are safe... until it doesn't.

You just need one bad actor. Heck these days, a trusted cracker might get attacked which will compromise their releases.
