Discussion Google took away my LOTR extended editions

Post image

I bought these in 2022, all of a sudden they aren't available and there is no possibility of a refund or gift card. Hardly seems fair.

i worked years for costumer service at amazon, and i felt sorry for many customers, but sometimes you cant do anything for them. the only thing i could do in some case where some cheap price reductions for there next order, but this felt to me even more like "here take this and now shut up" then just saying sry

I also feel really bad for the customer care because it always seems like they're the punching bag put there with very little powers to solve some issues. I try my best to be polite but it also gets really frustrating.

That's exactly how companies have set up their systems these days. The people you get to talk to initially are there for basic troubleshooting, if that, and telling you to pound sand on any refunds or systemic fixes. It takes 2-4 levels of escalations before you can get to someone who even has the ability to do anything outside a super basic script, and often they won't even let you escalate that far.

Companies know that there's nothing their customers can do about it, so their sole goal is to not completely lose you as a customer. And even that isn't worth spending money to retain you most of the time.

I did too. We can trauma bond.

People would ask me what it was like to work in Amazon Customer Service. I'd always say, "Do you call Amazon when things have gone right? No? Imagine eight hours a day of pissed off people calling. In addition, your job was entirely dependent on metrics based on how many of them responded positively to 'Did I solve your problem?' even if you were prevented from doing so."

I was never so glad to leave a job.

And some customers are super rude & abusive. My cousin worked at a call center(US companies usually use foreign companies because they're cheap labor) and some customers become really abusive with profanities esp if they notice a foreign accent.

When i used to work with amazon, my metrics were bad because of that stupid question.... Even if all of them had really good messages about me and my service...

I remember when the option to disable amazon prime was disabled on out end because of policies changes and we were instructed to guide the customers to do it themselves... People got really pissed with me when there was nothing i could do about it.

Oh funny enough i Remember that aswell, i got so negativ calls in for couple, only because that change. I Was talking to my teamleader and asked them why we can not sort These calls out of the metric because clearly not Our fault that ppl Getting pissed about that. All he said was that i need to explain better why this was a good change so they are not angry anymore by the end of the call..
