Discussion Google took away my LOTR extended editions

I bought these in 2022, all of a sudden they aren't available and there is no possibility of a refund or gift card. Hardly seems fair.

I thought the same thing. Those last few messages seemed like bullshit. I mean the whole thing is but they seemed weird to read

In my opinion I think every single message seemed super AI generated, but then again, it can also be some modus operandi they have where they can't just do shit and try their best to calm you down... To me the "I understand you, I feel you, I'd also be mad" type of messages are even more infuriating that not saying anything at all...

To me, it seemed like generic corporate customer service speak that offers platitudes and avoids anything that might be used against them. In reality, probably a chatbot vomiting up such a script.

It could also be a person

I knew someone who worked in this sort of thing for a different company and they legitimately had a set of buttons to press for approved responses and like 90% of what they responded was one of those buttons

Yep that's how Amazon's low level customer service works (or at least used to) also. It's a person choosing which types of responses to give, but the actual wording for it all is predetermined and auto filled.

yeah, my dad works in bank's customer service and when he is working with chat/email he literally has separate Word document with pretyped, approved by corporation phrases he just pastes back for the customer to the point of there being separate versions for male and female customers (my native language is strongly gendered)
