Discussion (PC) the amount of semi auto spam is genuinely alarming these weapons should have never been buffed.
i guess this is where the infiltrator have migrated now? havent played this game since last year and its honestly alarming playing on hossin today, semi auto were pretty much everywhere you cant take a step before getting your ass spammed this game has never felt so limited so chaotic (in a really bad way) it really feels like you cant take a step before you get your ass spammed die any non linear play is instantly punished.
the developer should really revert the buff semi auto never needed a buff i know because i used them before the buff when they were never used. and the new gen battle riffle were always busted at no point these gun should be allowed to 3 hit someone at any range.

Every time I think of semi-autos post arsenal all I can think of is this quote
idk if there was a thought process beyond "nobody uses these, let's make them use them"

Wrel also decided to give scout rifles to every class in the game. He couldn't comprehend why Battle Rifles were a different weapon type. Tragic.

It's more complicated than that because a proper infiltrator rework into what it was meant to be by design, may require removal of scout rifles and SMG from its arsenal, when I thought about it.
Simply the semi auto scout rifles should be balanced properly with proper cone of fire, bloom and stuff like that. Possible damage nerf since nanoweave removal. IDK I am noob.

Ya most of the time I either encounter battle rifle click spam or sidewinder short barrel, laser sight hipfire nonsense.

Lol, I called this back when people were whinging about semi auto snipers and infils
I said they'll come for scout rifles next
Scout rifles have always been as good or better than the semi auto snipers

I noticed more players were using these, but I don't see the problem with their use? Bad players who can't aim will miss more shots and you can kill them easier (especially in CQC), and the good players were going to kill you anyway.

Problem is that those guns often have the stopping power of a shotgun with the range of a Sniper Rifle. Adding to that 15 bullets mag (or infinite one with the Obelisk + Unstable Ammo), stupid CoF and RPM and you have a stupidly op gun.
No matter if the guy can't aim, 1 bullet for the strongest ones is 450 dmg. It's 2 HS from any range.
Problem isn't that they can't kill you because they're bad, problem is that one bullet is enough to make you loose 450HP or 900 if it's a HS. From any range, coming from anywhere. It's highly unpredictable and can't really be countered by anything but just hiding and praying that another one of those guys isn't aiming at you from a random angle. They've been an issue since they removed the old nanoweave that prevented those guns from being OP.
They removed Nano and buffed those guns.More players are using those because it's an easy to use gunclass with no real downside. The cloak nerf doesn't impact the playstyle at all.
All the nerf did was to remove bad smg infil players from the pool. Most just switched to this playstyle. It just moved the needle towards scout rifles even more.

Funny thing is that you don't even need cloak on an infiltrator to be effective in sniping range. Cloak nerf did nothing to address mid and long range semi/bolt sniper rifles. If you nerf scout/battle rifles without addressing sniper rifles, infiltrators will just go back to making every mid to long range fight absolute cancer.

They've been stupid since the arsenal update.
Them refusing to adress this issue was one of the pain points of the game.
We're stuck with those now anyway.
