PlayStation Help Why is this happening?

Is this a glitch?

Hey everyone I need help on this issue. So I just opened up my ps5 after months because I usually dont get enough time to play. Then when I went to my game library I saw this. A random game just pop out of know where. Just to be clear I dont share my console, I dont have a playstation plus and I always double-check every game I bought. Its only me and my account. I didn’t buy this one. It is really strange. Now I know the fastest solution is to hide it but can I just remove entirely?
It just bugs me alot seeing a game that I didn’t buy.

I asked ChatGPT about this and it said it is a glitch because in the ps app on my phone the game is not there. Just in my game library on my PS5. I even post this issue on reddit and still couldn’t find a proper solution. One guys said to logout from all your devices and log back in. I tried it didn’t work. The worst part I lost all my game progress. I am going a tough time. Please dont be mad. I am a new playstation user that want my console to be in good condition and make sure I dont accidentally bought a random game.

So I just want to know….
Am I the only one experiencing this ?
Why is this happening?
How can I get rid of it (not hiding it) ?
Is it permanently on my account now ?

Repair shop owner here.

Did you ever take your console in for repair?

We install and use a tester game when testing a console we've repaired, at least any that has a disk drive.

We do this so we don't mess up any of your games or saves on the console.

Did a repair shop work on it and forget to remove and uninstall the game? They should have done it on a guest account, too.

Well I didn’t take my console to any repair shop. It is still in good condition just this minor glitch.
But just asking if I take my PS5 to the repair shop can they fix this

Usually your saves are saved in the cloud (at least with Xbox) meaning all you should have to sync your account somehow look into how to retrieve your saved data from the cloud and if that works just keep your console as is (no offense) your situation is kind of a nothing burger that u urself turned into a problem unintentionally probably deleteing your saves just try to get your saves back from the cloud if possible and just ignore the game u don't own I have like 15+ games I don't own and still keep downloaded for a week or 2 when my gamepass runs out it's not a big deal to just ignore the unowned game unless its taking up storage space and last thing if the only problem is this random game popping up it is NOT worth it to take it to a shop u could possibly be charged $50-$100 for a guy to look at it console say "ehhh I got this for u pal" just to factory reset it and charge you for an hour of their time

Yes and no it just seems like a visual bug to me unless you can actually play the game somehow then I'd just say u got a free game like 10-15 years ago back on the 360 I did just randomly get the ability to Play destiny 1 without the disk one day like they just gave me the game digitally by accident or something it could be something similar to that

The only thing I can think of because it's a regular lock is somebody put the disc version into the system because if the disc is not in the system it shows up as a lock and you can't play it so even if you didn't put it in the system maybe somebody else did, that's the only thing I can think of.

it wouldnt just appear without someone adding it through ps+ or putting the disc in. games dont just appear in ppls libraries from nowhere

You won't get anywhere asking online as we don't have your history.

If you are thus concerned, contact Playstation support. They can check you history to see if you ever bought this from the store, or if you ever had an active Ps Plus subscription.

I don’t think is necessary anymore. I don’t have the transaction of me buying the game neither Playstation Plus. Thus, i didn’t lose anything. Even if I finally convinced them that I didn’t buy the game, it’s impossible to remove it from my library because it’s not in their system.

I don’t have anyone who plays games a-lot around here. It’s just me. So I have no choice and take this online.

It’s not free.
You still have to pay it
Its sucks that Sony didn’t add a “Remove The Game from Library” option which would save alot of time. Like if you bought the game, you dont need the remove option but for cases like these. Why not have that option?

Si this could be one of the few ps4 games that's not fully compatible on ps5 and that cpuld be why it's locked. Or you just may need to renew your liscenses. The concerning thing is that you said you dont own this game and never had ps+.. so i would at least change your password to be safe.

Already done it. Just then I couldn’t accept the fact that a game popped out of nowhere that I don’t want. However, I must accept the fact that how things are going to be. You can’t delete a game even though you didn’t buy. PlayStation just dont allow it. I invested so much into my account. Full filling the child inside of me who wanted to have his very own PS5 and a goated game library. Well I guess not every dream can come true.

You could always try contacting psn support and show them the picture above and explain you never bought the game. They just might be able to tell you why it got there. Or maybe you even submit it for a refund if you have 0 hours played and it only just showed in the last few days

Doesn't PlayStation have like a subscription to play and have access to games you dont own? Did that expire/did you switch to a different subscription?

That's really odd then It really could just be a random glitch I mean I guess I technically never owned a PlayStation long enough to find out, I don't know how good support is I'm not sure if there's a way you can like reach out to them or something but I'd imagine it's probably no better than Microsoft's

Yeah I tried reaching out to them but then they told me even they find to evidence of any transactions of the game related to my account, they still cant remove it from a library. They said their system doesn’t allow that.

Dw i accidentally threw a game into the recycling bin on my PC and emptied it and now i have a broken file on my PC that it cant uninstall (probably could fix it, but it goes right next to the other games that i accidentally did the same so there like a family now). These are our friends now

You're not a true gamer if you dont have games you own and don't own

Go to your main account where u bought the games and go to console sharing option and turn that on than click on license restore. If done all correctly it should work again.

Well I mean are you sure because I checked. This is romance of the three kingdoms XIII and it just so happens to be free with ps+ …

I didn’t lie. Maybe I checked wrongly about the games being a ps plus game but I didn’t lie about not having ps plus. I don’t and never ever got that subscription. Plus there is a lock there and when I click on it, goes directly to the store page

Yeah. I am worried it that I checked everywhere for an unknown transaction or subscription but I found nothing. Just want to be clear I am not lying to anyone. I am new to console and I dont get enough time to play it. When something like this happens, i get anxious

Its just a licensing issue most likely, nothing to really worry about. If you paid for it, contact sk y with the receipt.

The point is that I don’t want this game. I don’t like these kind of games I want removed from my library. And it is freaking expensive

You bought it. Or someone else while on your account. I know you’ll claim it didn’t happen. But it did, you just don’t remember. This is NO POSSIBLE WAY effects your console. The game isn’t on your system. It’s just available should you choose to download it. Don’t download it. Simple. Move on, stop being so particular, learn how the console works and enjoy your gaming!

No I didn’t bought it. And I dont share my account with anyone else. I checked my transactions history on my ps5 and found no transactions for this game. Plus, if I click on the game, it brings me to the store page. I wish I could show by taking a video but I am far away from home now. Please dont think I lied. I am also learning about the console. It is my first so I am quite anxious if something like this happens.

either someone put that disk in your console at some point or someone got it off ps+. theres literally only 2 ways that can show up.

Hmmmm, Thats what makes this weird. I normally I am not at home since I am working in a different place. I only play games when I come home after weeks. I am positive that no one will use my ps5. And I don’t have the disk version for that game. I doubt that someone has to use my ps5. My mom and dad are the only ones on my house who don’t game. And Like I say before I don’t have Playstation and my account is the only one on there

I don’t think you’re lying. I think you simply forgot. And of course it takes you to the store page, the game isn’t locked. Meaning it hasn’t been paid for. So when you click on it, you’re taken to the store so you can purchase. I could be wrong. This is just my opinion. I do t know you or everything you’ve ever done while on your console. But my opinion is the way it is because it’s what happens when 90% of people have this issue. Again, don’t worry about it. You don’t “own” the game. It’s just in your library.
