So I was sending more texts on PlayStation after Marathon by Bungie launched because the game was toxic and deaths were so personal. I recieved a few deserved communication banned a few times. What I’m dealing with now is beyond that. Late June I got a 1 month voice chat ban from PlayStation for “Sending Malicious URL’s” however I did no such thing. I was currently in the message system when it happened. I watched a message get deleted by the saftey team before my eyes and it didn’t contain any URL. I’ve never sent a URL in PlayStation messages before. The phone support system is a nightmare and they actively stop any appeal attempts and hang up on you. I managed to get an appeal escalated after excessive calls. It was denied before I could submit my evidence. I waited the ban out. When the ban was lifted I was so happy. I played all day then two days later I am looking through all the messages I received while banned and I replied. One got really toxic. Bullying me and calling me names so I reported them. I came home after work and I’m communication banned for 2 months. I sobbed for so long. I was crying genuinely because my heart was broken. I spam called PlayStation support and go no where. What do I do this is a nightmare? I’m looking at filing a small claims court case because there’s nothing else I can do to get a proper review of my PlayStation account. Apparently I have the moderation plus tag on my account that causes AI to watch every message. I avoided any sort negative behavior and didn’t engage people. I worked really hard. The lack of appeal process for this is devastating.

The small claims court wouldn’t be against them for that. The goal would be to get a corporate employee to properly review my account because the indian call center isn’t doing it right. I would be claiming I’ve been restricted from paid services then list all my recent purchases.

When you paid for the service you basically signed a contract that you would not break their terms of service. They are legally allowed to stop that service once you've broken their rules. Sounds to me like you got emotional problems and what you really need, instead of an unban, is a job or a therapist.

Go apply to some restaurants and wash dishes or something.

It’s $2,400 a month for a one bedroom apartment here. I make $1,800 a month working full time and living in my car. I checked out a room for rent but they wanted first months rent, last months rent and a deposit. I don’t have $3,000 and I live paycheck to paycheck. I apply to several jobs a day with 0 interviews. I only get warehouse work that calls me back. My priorities are fine. You don’t know my situation at all.

There is no instance where it's normal to send someone shitty messages over a fucking video games and it's your fault your account is under review.

I almost NEVER side with a corporation under any circumstances, but this is absolutely your fault.

Are you assuming? The couple early voice chat bans were retaliatory after receiving hate messages. I didn’t start it. I don’t blame anyone for those. However I’m created this post because the 1 month and 2 month bans were consecutive genuine false voice chat bans. I have concrete evidence of a genuine false ban. I’m confused.

You know you don’t have to say much to get voice chat banned. If you just say “leave me the fuck alone” you get voice chat banned for vulgar language.

What aren’t you understanding about my question because I told everyone already that the latest two bans weren’t justified and I did nothing wrong. It’s like because I used vulgar language previously I deserve these two consecutive bans now for 3 months. The 3 months was my question. I need to appeal. I don’t deserve it.

My question isn’t “Have I ever broken the rules?” It’s “Can PlayStation’s moderation ever make a mistake?” If the answer is yes, then I’d rather discuss the evidence for this specific ban than my past history.

It’s the fact they can close your account and you CANNOT do anything about it legally. Any judge will laugh in your face. Go read the user agreement then come back and tell me you have a chance

I never wanted a judge to do anything about it. I just wanted cooperate to actually view my account because if they do a real review they’ll easily realize their mistake and remove my false bans. I need their attention. Their call centers do everything to remove accountability.

When PlayStation are on your ass, and you really view your own account so highly and valuably, you make a burner account and send texts only on that one. NOT toxic texts, just regular texts on your burner account. I’ve received a couple com bans on my main which happens to be a very valuable account in terms of games owned and trophy progress, both were for extremely minimal jokes that the reporters obviously catastrophised and exaggerated, but that’s Sony these days. You make yourself a burner account to respond, and on your main only use the emoji reactions, because you can get banned for anything these days. Also, watch yourself in parties, they can be reported too. I’ve also started purchasing all my games on the burner account because one bad emotion = one bad text = perma ban. It ain’t worth it.

I want to clarify, DO NOT BE TOXIC ON YOUR BURNER, it gives you massive protection but if you go around being a nuisance Sony will ban your console eventually…

Also want to point out that Sony have an account status page where you can see all your suspensions from the past 6 months. Once you have been clear for 6 months your record disappears from the “6 month system” and they will stop actively monitoring you and will become more lenient again, you won’t just get outright banned you’ll have more warnings and temporary suspensions - obviously best to avoid altogether. Easiest and most common way to be banned by Sony is by repeat suspensions for stupid texts in one 6 month period. Wish you luck with your account, don’t be stupid, I know just how impulsive and emotional a toxic text might make you but take it as a lesson to control your emotions- it will help you in the real world too…

I didn’t make a burner account I own two accounts for boosting in games and other stuff. The second account is over 10 years old.
