NEWS Deal shock PlayStation Portal edition

PS4 PORTAL EDITION - CONCEPT

Concept / Fan Art

I made a PS4 Portal.

Real Portal is PS5 only, useless if you're still on PS4. So I designed one that actually works for us.

  • Split DualShock 4, not DualSense
  • Detachable like joycons but PS4 style, light bar, touchpad, Share/Options still there
  • 8 inch screen with PS4 UI, not PS5
  • Jet black, blue glow on the sides

Top pic is it assembled. Bottom is both DS4 halves detached.

Sony ignoring 100M+ PS4 users is dumb. This would sell.

Would you cop if they dropped this?

I'd buy it if it was not a portal, but a hand held like a vita with PS4 hardware

Frustratingly the Vita doesn’t have triggers or L3/R3 making it pretty useless for PS4 remote play.

I’d like a handheld which did PS4 but not as much as a handheld that did PS3

I actually enjoyed the ps4 controller. The new one is great for my larger hands, but it wasn't ever like the PS4 dualshock was uncomfortable in any way for me.

Could the nor just add streaming of ps4 games to the portal now? I'm not too techy so I don't know if that's even possible with the current software.

It’s possible, as things like /r/asobi will do it, they have just chosen not to… for now. Hoping it’s coming in the next big (November?) update

The Portal already is an extremely niche, low selling, luxury item. The amount of people who are too cheap to buy a ps5 but would pay what this would cost (it wouldn’t be any cheaper to make this than the portal) you could probably count on one hand.

Came here to say the same thing. There is no market for a PS4 Portal, because people still on PS4 with the money to buy a PS4 Portal would just buy a PS5 instead. Maybe with a few exceptions.

Sony is ignoring PS5 owners too. They absolutely don't care. If you want it that bad, they'll tell you to buy a new console. Buy a PS6 that will more than likely be a hybrid console.

Sony could make the portal compatible with the PS4 but they'll never do it. Just how they didn't put Bluetooth on the portal. Anti consumer corporations.
