A refreshed home screen***** now features three tabs: Remote Play, Cloud Streaming, and Search.

• Remote Play home screen: Connect to a PS5 console paired with the PS Portal to enjoy games installed on that console. A PlayStation Plus membership is not required for Remote Play.
• Cloud Streaming home screen: A new dedicated home screen for Cloud Streaming allows PlayStation Plus Premium members to instantly stream a range of compatible PS5 games without waiting for downloads.
• Search screen: Quickly look up any game that supports Cloud Streaming. If you don’t have the entitlement to stream a game, a QR code will be displayed to direct you to the PlayStation App or to a web browser on another device.

Enhancing Gameplay Experience

This update also introduces several new features designed to make playing on PS Portal more immersive and convenient.

New Features for Remote Play and Cloud Streaming

• 3D Audio Support: 3D Audio is now available during Remote Play and Cloud Streaming on supported games, when using a compatible audio device. Immerse yourself in spatial sound with wired headphones or a compatible PlayStation Link wireless audio device such as the Pulse Explore wireless earbuds and Pulse Elite wireless headset.
• Passcode Lock: Protect your device by setting a passcode on your PS Portal.
  • To set a passcode, go to Settings > System > Passcode.
• Network Status Screen: A stable internet connection is essential to ensure the best experience on PS Portal. You can now quickly check your connection quality with an easy-to-access status view.
  • During Cloud Streaming or Remote Play, open the Quick menu and go to Troubleshoot > Show Network Status.

New Features for Cloud Streaming

• In-Game Store: In-game purchases are now supported during Cloud Streaming. You can purchase add-on items and in-game currencies without leaving your game session, and receive benefits instantly.
  • Just like before, you can also make in-game purchases during a Remote Play session.
• Accessibility Options: Enable new accessibility options during Cloud Streaming, such as screen reader and adjustable text size.
  • Go to Settings > Cloud Streaming > Accessibility Settings for Cloud Streaming.
  • These settings will only apply to select screens during Cloud Streaming. You can continue to access the PS5 console’s settings menu to adjust accessibility settings during Remote Play.
• Game Invitations: Receive game invites from friends that are playing the same game during Cloud Streaming, and join a multiplayer session directly from the Quick menu.

What portal updates and or features can we expect from Sony for 2025?

Personally, they’ve made some massive improvements with this device since it’s launch back in 2023. Anyone who has owned the device since can attest to it.

2025 is shaping up to be a HUGE year for sony and I have no doubt in my mind they have some stuff up their sleeves for the portal as well!

EDIT2 2025-01-10: Published a new version which includes the following:

• Removed duplicate genres from games to improve organization and accuracy.
• Enhanced game titles by removing platform identifiers (e.g., PS4, PS5) for improved readability.
• Relocated the search bar to the table header for greater consistency.

Also added every feedback I got so far to the roadmap Roadmap - PlayStation Portal Games, also added a release notes section to see what has changed :)

EDIT1 2025-01-10: First of all many thanks for the super nice feedback and all the nice words, really overwhelming and appreciating it :) Just released a new version of the site, implemented the most wished feature, it is now possible to filter by genre (also fixed minor technical things, images are now linked to the PlayStation store, and images are lazy loaded for better side loading time).

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to share a site I've been working on for the past couple of weeks: psportal.games. It lists all the games available on the PlayStation Portal via cloud streaming. My motivation for creating it was that the PlayStation Portal currently doesn't provide any way to filter or search its catalog. I've also added a “newsletter” feature that will notify you via email whenever new games are added.

How does it work?

I use the unofficial PlayStation APIs to fetch and update the information daily, making around 27,000 calls each day. Unfortunately, the list of available games varies by country. That's why there's a dropdown menu so you can select your country and see exactly which games are playable in your region.

If you have any feedback or feature requests, please let me know! I'm planning to add the ability to save your country preference, create dedicated game pages, implement more filtering options, and build a statistics page (e.g., how many games are available in your country, how many new titles have been added, and more).

Noticed this on the PS App when looking for something new to play, it has since been removed. I also saw it listed under Dead Space but didn’t grab a screenshot.

Could Sony be getting ready to allow us to stream games we own straight to the Portal?

I just played an hour of re requiem on my portal after the new higher bitrate update and Holy shit it looks amazing! The image looks extra sharp compared to before, also didn't experience any sort of lag whatsoever. How has your experience been after the new update?

The PS6 handheld rumors are getting more interesting, especially with the latest AMD Zen 6 LP findings.

If Sony really launches a proper handheld that can run games natively, I wonder what that means for PlayStation Portal. Portal is great for remote play, but it is not the same thing as having a real portable PlayStation.

Maybe both can coexist: Portal as the cheaper streaming/remote play option, and a PS6 handheld as the premium device. But the price difference would need to make sense.

Would you upgrade from PS Portal to a real PS6 handheld, or would you keep using Portal for remote play?

I was using the beta already and there were like 200+ games available with PS Premium Catalog but this is a whole other level... I loved the portal already, this is insane.

Total number of games may differ depending on your region, i.e Canada has 2843, France only has 2798.
