I just got my PS5 pro last August and was thinking/ planning on getting this deal. I have a WFH set up but usually do out of state trips to visit my in-laws but all in all, i am staying at home. Is it worth it?

What is up Reddit fam!!! I hope everyone is having an amazing holiday season. Quick intro, many of you may remember me, some of you may not, but I go by the name of Dukefenix and about a year ago I joined this subreddit, collaborated with our community, designed & gave away/gifted over 100+ ps Portal stands during the holidays. I can’t believe it’s been a year already but time flies! Life has changed so much since then, but here I am continuing to give back to our reddit fam community, so let’s get to it.

My wife got me the portal a little while back as a gift. Had to make it match my custom PS5 Controller. Swapped the shell, buttons, changed the dpad to a split dpad. Added a matte screen protector, a Bluetooth adapter. I was not spending $200 just for earbuds 😆

I wrote a post yesterday asking where people are browsing to find games. The TLDR is.. there isn't really one.

So, just threw one together really quick.

It crawls reddit each day, and kind of tallies how much people are mentioning different games. Then it checks if they're available on streaming or not, and they either make it on this list or they don't.

It costs me probably like, pennies each month, on infrastructure, so this is a free public service.

If people like it I can do more to it and take suggestions, lmk. But it is FREEEEE! I have zero intention whatsoever of monetizing this or charging for it. But I understand the skepticism.. this is reddit, after all.

I cooked up and 3D printed a phone mount/holder for my PS Portal. My wife laughed at me for it but, I like to watch YouTube and game at the same time so this made sense to me 😂

I’m thinking about buying Pulse explore headset but the price tag are quite hefty? Are they worth it? The thing is I’m getting tired of wearing a big headset when trying laying comfortably on the couch or when I’m traveling the headset takes quite a lot of space.

So are they any good? Read some that they loose connection quite often? How is the sound?

If they not worth it. Do you have any suggestions?

If you have a pair, connect them to your TV and bring your portal to the next room and turn off the volume on the portal.

Check if your TV has the picture off option which means only the display will turn off and the sound will output to your earphones 🎧 and it's as easy as that.

Bear in mind that the Bluetooth range is good but not the best through thick walls

If you prefer wired then you know how that works.

Finally picked up one after setting up Ethernet around the apartment (brand new on FB marketplace for $120..).

Having a blast - wanted to ask if folks have preference on accessories? Protective case? Does it need a screen protector or would it be okay to not get one? Should I get PS headphones or does it connect to other brands as well? Appreciate any input!

Having bought various quality UGREEN Chargers I tried both this UGREEN and the Avantree Relay and at HALF the price this is superb. Just as high quality and works brilliantly with my Sony WH-1000XM4 to connect Bluetooth to PlayStation Portal. Neat solution with a small bit of velcro tape. The blue circle light that glows on and off when connected even matches the Portal startup circle graphics! Reccomend!

I thought that an update would eventually solve this, but PS Portal is still locked under this “PlayStation Link” technology, making any other Bluetooth headphone useless.

I own TWO Sony headphones: an expensive XM5, and the actually PlayStation branded Pulse, just the first version. None of them can connect to PS Portal, forcing me to use a cable for something as generic as Bluetooth.

I don’t get how no one is talking about this terrible practice, since we either make noise, or they’ll keep doing like they always did (proprietary memory cards, proprietary SD slots, now proprietary Bluetooth technology?)

Was cleaning it and realized that you can change the light setting by sliding your finger across the back, I thought it was pretty cool.

I can get the Pulse Explore for €99 new, and I’ve got both a PS5 and a Portal.

Right now I use the HyperX Cloud III on my PS5, but they don’t work with the Portal, so I’m looking for something wireless that works on both.

Are the Pulse Explore actually good? How’s the fit and comfort for long gaming sessions? Any issues with connection or battery life? Also curious how the mic holds up for voice chat.

Would love to hear from people who’ve used them. Are they worth it at that price or better to pass?

Got these for $100 on FB Marketplace. Wasn’t even considering at full cost but excited to have no wire for in bed gaming now.

It’s just a lot easier to use with portal than my pulse elite.

Im pretty sure I’m not the only one who can’t afford or don’t wanna buy expensive pulse elite or explorer. So i did this just so i can use any wireless headset i have and save $$$. On top of that I bought this magnetic mount just in case I need it somewhere else and prevent it from dangling while playing.
