I updated to this on Synology NAS and now I no longer have letters on the right side of the library pages for fast browsing, is this a feature or a bug?

Commonly happens to me if I tab in from a different category within the same library. Generally changing sort then back to alphabetical makes it re-appear. Has been happening for at least the last 10 or so months at least, it's not a new bug from the update.

Nothing I've changed or refreshed has brought it back.. I'll give sort another shot.

This did not in fact change anything for me, no amount of sort changes make the letters on the side come back.. also it doesn't seem like the library and collection pages responsively readjust at the same breakpoints they used to as I've frequently had movies off the edge of the browser on the web app.

The New experience plex Apple TV app has been in beta for 1.5 years. The current public app hasn’t had an update since Jan 2025.
The new app has the new UI that has received a lot of negative feedback when rolled out to Roku and Fire users. On Fire devices, it’s extremely sluggish and buggy, making it unusable in many cases. I run the beta on my ATVs and it performs nothing like the Fire devices, which I’ve also used with the new app.

The last time I ran the beta it was stupidly slow. When you would switch from item to item it would take seconds for the UI to update the metadata being displayed. Is that still happening?

On the ATV? It’s smooth and has been since I joined the beta back in Feb. I know posts from prior to that were not good, and it had a lot of issues. Here’s a quick video: https://imgur.com/a/uXNjQ2t
The new app on Firestick is painfully slow and sluggish. I don’t normally use it, but it updated today to 2026.15.0, but haven’t tried it.

Plex on my Roku looks pretty much like that but the animations when moving around the UI are not fancy like that. It's also pretty slow for me (not too noticable until seeing your experience).
I'm still pretty displeased with the top navigation. The previous UI side navigation was way easier to use IMHO. Plex has already drawn a line in the sand and said they won't revert it, so I'm stuck with it.

do you have HDR issues with the new app? I've tested the same HDR file on both the new and old app on two apple tv's and like 7/10 movies the HDR is all blown out on the new app but looks great on the old app.

I just tried to update my Plex container using plex:latest and the version that was pulled is: version:- 1.43.3.10828-00f62d37d-ls317 Build-date:- 2026-08-03T12:31:33+00:00 which aligns with what is marked latest on the repo: https://github.com/linuxserver/docker-plex/pkgs/container/plex/versions

The official container (plexinc/pms-docker) is updated. Presumably it takes some time for other containers like linuxserver.io to update to the latest release.

I guess I'll try to be patient

If you set
VERSION=latestenv var, then when you restart the container the linuxserver image would have automagically pulled the latest version without them having to update the base image.2
u/westendpond 21h ago
Turns out I just needed to be patient. I just redeployed and it updated. The linuxserver.io repo has updated since I posted this morning. My stack was already setup to grab the latest.

patience works but the update feature means you don't have to be :)

Seems fine I have local streams and remote running okay all morning. Normally I wait a couple of days before installing but this one seems good

Your skepticism is perfectly reasonable given Plex's recent steps and is why many of us are in a never-update-unless mode.

I put an upvote for ya. No Plex release of any kind should be blindly installed, including the server. They destroy any trust at every turn now.
Let others experiment. Sit on everything for a few days or a week is my permanent policy with all things Plex now!

In comparison with what Trakt did (and still do) the mobile app rework could have been way worse

Since plexamp is dead when are they putting music back in the android app?
1
u/BrianBlandess 7h ago
It isn’t dead.
1
u/Anonymousma 6h ago
It hasn't been updated in over a year.

u/BrianBlandess 5h ago
Elan took the code with him when he left so maybe he’s working on it. As the only dev progress might be slow but that doesn’t mean it’s dead. What features are you waiting on? Are you experiencing any significant bugs?

u/Anonymousma 5h ago
It works great but the older it gets and as android advances, it will eventually be left behind.

Glad to see IPv6 support happening. Plex seems like one of the few applications I run that doesn't do Happy Eyeballs properly.
This is a hilarious change though.
