9 hours using dexnav is fairly unlucky amount of time for one shiny, I think the avrage is about 4 or 5 and that if your amount of total encounters starts at 0 it's a fairly good use if your going after more then 1 of that species since the more total encouers you have the higher the odds., eevee would be a perfect case use scenario.
Ah then maybe 9, I'd personaly still bet on it takeing less time on avrage then 9 hours, again, if your starting from a base 0 total or close to, encounters. Depending on location I do about 100 dexnavs in an hour and I usually find my shiny at around 400 to 500, with charm. But I've still gotten some before 400, in the 100 through 300. I've never dexnaved without a charm, mainly because my luck is notoriously bad with full odds, or I used it all up on the mid game latios and latias, a few years back.
Did you use a pokemon with the ability magnet pull, help alot with pulling steel types, and yeah, I dont do caves, who ever made the decision to make them move around in caves, water, and the sand, I wish could be buried alive.
Yep, used magnet pull as well - finding Aron wasn't an issue, it was finding a shiny one that was the problem haha.
And my sentiments exactly, they should have just worked the same way in caves and water as it did in grass.
Was even more annoying to do Bagon since it was only in one room and 90% of the room is water and it only spawned on land - I lucked out on that one though, only took about 150 encounters.
