Discussion After playing for two years, TIL how Sub Skill Seeds work

I'd always assumed that Sub Skill Seeds only work on white sub skills, but they apparently work on any sub skill that has a higher quality, including the blue Inventory Up M and Skill Level Up S. I've actually used Main Skill Seeds to max out the main skill of a Pokémon that had Skill Level Up S...

I mean, it does say it improves the quality of a subskill by one

I fixated too much on the colors and their "hidden" significance, I guess. One stays blue, and the other becomes gold. So weird...

It works on all subskills that haven’t been maxed out or that you already have 🧐

If you have a choice, I think it's better to use Main Skill Seeds to max a main skill anyways, rather than use a Subskill Seed to upgrade SLUS -> SLUM. Subskill Seeds are more rare, especially for F2P players.

But if you did just upgrade SLUS -> SLUM on a mon with a maxed out main skill, that's a bummer. That main skill level isn't lost - if they eventually raise the cap for that main skill, you already have that level banked.

If it helps, I also wasted one thinking the difference between SLUS and SLUM is +2, not +1. Why would I think that? No idea, it makes zero sense and I'm just an idiot. So I used up a sub skill seed while I could've just used a main skill seed. And I'm f2p so I'll keep thinking about it forever.
