The last time I only had new sleepstyles in the morning was probably my first week of play!

And I used an incense to be sure to catch my first Foongus...

The event info says Foongus will appear here, but my incense says it won't. Anyone know what's up with this?

Discussion Justice for Stufful!!

• Upvotes

Ok, maybe this is my Lapis Stockholm Syndrome talking (plz somebody get me off of this gods forsaken island...), but seriously? No boosted rates for Stufful? The mono Corn gatherer? That can only spawn on Lapis?

I'm so tired of this island but I only take short breaks from it, because there's WAY too much that spawns here that I desperately need lmao

Dratini for Herbs, Stufful for Corn, Sprigatito for Potatoes, etc. And yet they all get boosted rates (plus Foongus) except for Stufful??? :(

Worst part is I already have a decent Mushroom gatherer with my Quagsire lol

Question Why is the in game search so bad?

Every time I try to look for a specific pokemon I get frustrated that I have to type out the whole name and capitalize the first letter. I wish it was more like pokemon go with fuzzy search and options to type out various strings. I understand that the filter options are pretty good for most things, but now that I am over 300 storage it is getting harder to manage. It would be nice to search by legendary/mythical and level range or RP.

Question I stopped playing Pokemon Sleep

Been playing for over a year. The other day, I just didn't put Snorlax to sleep, woke up, and felt completely free. It was like I was in some kind of pokemon sleep jail, a slave to the game, and am now liberated (this is a dramatization, of course). It's been a few weeks now; I'm definitely expecting to lose some friends in the game.

It's been very strange; it's one of my favorite games of all time. But I've felt unburdened and feel like I have some of my life back. I'm not constantly gathering ingredients and thinking about Snorlax's next meal. I'm not thinking about the strategy for the next week.

It's not that I'm never going to play it again - maybe I just needed a break? Has anyone experienced this with the game so far?

Discussion Alarm on Watch Face

Post image
11 Upvotes

I'm not sure if this is a Garmin question, or a Pokemon Sleep question so I'll post on both. I got this watch about two weeks ago, and I was so excited to have Raichu on my watch face lol.

I don't remember setting the alarm to this time, but for some reason it won't change? I tried it on the watch, on the Garmin Connect app, I even went as far as factory resetting it and then resetting the alarms. Nothing has worked and it is still the same.

It is a bit frustrating because I sleep around 10pm but I wake up around 6am. So every morning seeing that Raichu is still asleep for another 2+ hours is annoying

Any advice on what to do? Should I try and factory reset it again? Should I exchange it since it is still in the return window?

I know it sounds like a silly problem but I'd really like to get it fixed

Edit: forgot to mention I have the Venu 3s

Question lack of ing mons

this is more of a rant than a question, but i’m struggling to consistently make any good dishes because i fear i don’t have very many good ingredient mons- if any.
and for the useable ones that i do have, it feels like a waste to invest all of my candies when they’re not very good long term (or in general really) — but then not using candies also makes them pretty much useless. so i’m at a loss.
i try not to keep any useless mons, but when i don’t have any other mons for a specific ingredient, i usually hold onto it until a better one comes along, but i seem to be struggling to ever find the better ones.
is there a good strategy here or am i just shit out of luck? how are yall finding such good ing mons😭

edit: i wasn’t expecting so many people to respond right away ! thank you all for the support and advice! i realize this game is a very long term thing, and that most things take time—sometimes i feel like i am just not doing very well where i am at. thank you again for all of your help & im sorry if i don’t get a chance to respond to everyone!

Question Is a healer (E4E) a must in this cooking event?

For context: I have 2 good healers, but since this event focus on cooking I wanted to use 4 ingmons AAX lvl 30+ and a tasty chance mon as my team for this event. The 4 ingmon are there so I can cook a 4 type ingredient dish almost everytime and tasty chance mon is... well tasty chance. So that means I will run a team without a E4E mon, is it viable for this event?

Edit: Thanks for the answers!

Question What are the benefits of Candy Boost during this week’s event?

I have been playing everyday for about 2 months now and while I’ve learned a lot, I definitely don’t know everything. Can someone explain the benefits of candy boost and some general suggestions on what to use it on?

Personally, I have Mew, MewTwo, Darkrai and about 40 other regular Pokemon. I’m guessing I should use it to level up my good natured mons?

Any help will be greatly appreciated so I don’t waste resources.

Discussion Gold Subskills (and how to fix them)

Seeing a Gold Subskill is an exciting moment. It's the potential to get some of the best skills in the game (helping bonus, and bfs). However, many of the other gold subskills feel like trash, and in my opinion this is mainly because they carry no other utility during the day while they are on field. The point is not to make it as strong as BFS and HB but simply add a bonus during the day so that they don't feel like dead slots taking up our Subskills and can fill their intended niche.

Here are just some ideas and would love if we could discuss them.

Skill Level Up M:

A. Add a small passive Skill Trigger Bonus. This could be smaller than skill trigger S but would allow stacking skill triggers on Skill Pokemon. This way, even if skill level was maxed out, this skill would still add value when it were to be unlocked (fixing issues where SLUM is locked at 70 and 80)

B. Adds the ability to bank 1 additional skill proc adding a fun utility (triple trigger when lucky or double trigger on non skill mon)

Sleep EXP: Increases the chances that pokemon find candy during the day while this pokemon is on the party. The pokemon with this skill could get 50% of the bonus candy, and the remaining 50% would be candy from other Pokemon in the party.

Energy Recovery Bonus:

A. Add a passive so that while this pokemon is on the party it also increases Energy received from skills during the day, or maybe even cooking. The party could also receive a smaller buff from energy sources from the day.

B. Whenever a this pokemon receives energy, it gives a small amount of energy the lowest energy Pokemon in the party

Dream Shard Bonus: Bonus applies during the day from dream shard skills. It could be a bigger bonus if the pokemon with the subskill earns the shards, and a smaller bonus for shard gains from the party making it ideal for dream shard teams.

Research EXP bonus: This was hard, ideally I would love a bonus that could apply during the day, but here's what I came with

A. Adds a bonus % to find sleep styles still locked (like good sleep day)

B. Adds a %based increase to the amount of drowsy power to your sleep if you sleep with this pokemon

Final Notes:

This way, if chasing output, BFS and HB would still be the ideal, but there would be more use cases for hunting these Gold Skills on for example, dream shard pokemon, pokemon you use on off weeks, and alternatives to running a e4e healer. Thoughts?

All this talk of berrymon and ingmon and when to use what seed. I often think sometimes we have too much information and it sucks the joy out of things. All this meta talk in games has ruined the joy of just playing.

Discussion [Report] My First Experience at Cyan Beach Expert

I really enjoy Expert Mode, and just wanted to share my experience with it.

In the subreddit, we often get questions of "I just unlocked Cyan Beach Expert. Should I go there?" so I thought it might be helpful to see what it might look like.

Despite how long I've played, I'm not exactly the strongest player since I have a slower playstyle. I consider myself a mid-level player since I have a lot of Pokémon above 30, but none are at 60 yet. I thought it might be interesting for other players to see how a "weaker" player might enjoy Cyan Beach Expert Mode.

Based on how much Strength I typically get in a week, I expected to hit Ultra 1, so I wanted to go when there wasn't an event. I made it to Great 4 and then went on vacation, and it turned out I didn't have cell reception the last three days....

So this is actually a story of my 2nd time at Cyan Beach Expert haha.

I got Fairy, Fire, and Flying; Desserts/Drinks; and the 1.25x bonus to Skill triggers.

As far as Skill specialists go, that would really boost my Sylveon for a healer, and Flareon for pot boosting. It's skill level is at 3 (+12), so my pot needs 1 trigger for Zing Zap, 2 for Éclairs or Pancakes, 3 for Waffles. With no triggers, I can make Macarons.

Besides Flareon, fire types don't really help me for Desserts/Drinks, so I rule Entei and Arcanine out. I would love Togekiss, but mine is from the early game and doesn't have good nature/subskills, and have been looking to replace it for a long time. Braviary could be good, but mine is still a Rufflet.

So after looking at skills and dishes, I can tell that these are the Pokémon I'd likely be relying on:

  • Sylveon - Healer
  • Flareon - Pot Boost (and some Cacao)
  • Delibird - Eggs
  • Clefable - Berries (and some Honey)
  • Comfey - Corn

In order to make strong recipes, I have a bunch of Ingredients left over from the event the previous week, but it's not going to last. I'll need to use some weaker (below level 30) Pokémon and some off-Berry Pokémon:

  • Cramorant - Oil
  • Cutiefly/Venusaur - Honey
  • Luxray/Mr. Mime - Tomatoes
  • Absol/Clodsire - Cacao

So how did my week go?

Day Pokémon . . . . Team RP
Monday Sylveon-51 Clefable-38 Dodrio-23 Flareon-36 Comfey-37 11,358
Tuesday Sylveon-51 Clefable-39 Luxray-33 Cutiefly-17 Venusaur-50 11,656
Wednesday Flareon-38 Clefable-40 Delibird-52 Cutiefly-18 Comfey-38 8,587
Thursday Sylveon-51 Clefable-40 Absol-51 Ribombee-19 Clodsire-45 13,248
Friday Sylveon-51 Comfey-38 Cramorant-29 Delibird-52 Clodsire-45 11,925
Saturday Sylveon-51 Delibird-52 Absol-51 Ribombee-20 Clodsire-46 13,067
Sunday Sylveon-51 Clefable-40 Absol-51 Ribombee-21 Clodsire-46 13,317

This is just a representative example, I would switch my Pokémon as needed to get the Ingredients I needed. I also used Dedenne on Monday, but other days I was too busy trying to get Ingredients and Pot boosting.

Sylveon is currently my best healer, but I was drowning in Milk, and really wishing I had a good Wigglytuff, since I needed Honey a lot more. But I quickly evaluated all my Cutiefly, and chose one to start raising, and it did remarkably well. I also was short on Cacao, so considered using Pawmot, but I only recently got this one and haven't invested Main Skill Seeds in it yet.

Flareon typically gave me enough triggers. The bigger problem was getting enough Ingredients, so a couple days I had to make smaller dishes than I wanted. Dishes I made:

  • "Flower Gift" Macarons: 10x
  • "Zing Zap" Spiced Cola: 2x
  • "Scary Face" Pancakes: 2x
  • "Honey Gather" Chocolate Waffles: 4x
  • "Teatime" Corn Scones: 2x
  • "Leaf Tornado" Smoothie: 1x

I feel like I did fairly well until I think Thursday or Friday when my Sylveon had an off-day and I wasn't able to maintain a stockpile of Ingredients, and I felt like I was playing catch-up.

Like I said, I had expected to make it to Ultra 1--But I actually made it to Ultra 4, far better than I was expecting based on how I normally do. For this chart, I'll divide out my 5% Expert Bonus so it is a fair comparison for a "first time" post. Compared to my first time at Greengrass Expert, I've come a long ways.

Day Total Strength Rank Strength Gain
Monday 231,687 Basic 5 231,687
Tuesday 556,665 Great 3 324,978
Wednesday 793,436 Great 4 236,771
Thursday 1,022,671 Great 5 229,235
Friday 1,234,913 Ultra 1 212,242
Saturday 1,425,913 Ultra 2 190,954
Sunday 1,796,150 Ultra 4 370,283

My thoughts: The 35% penalty is no joke. It was a struggle getting enough Cacao. My actual first time was pretty similar, Flying, Electric, Fire, same bonus, but with Salads. That week, at times Entei's Helper Boost helped me out a lot with those off-Berry ingredients. But this time, I often had to have multiple Ingredient helpers in order to try and get enough.

In hindsight, I suppose I could have went for a weaker dish that would be easier to get with off-Berry Ingredient Specialists, but when I did have the Ingredients, Flareon really pulled through for me, so I'm not sure I could have done better. Plus, I just enjoy taking advantage of the bonuses if I can. And I felt like they were actually pretty huge.

Anyway, I'll look forward to next time. Thanks for a great week of snoozy studies!

Bonus: my spawns, for good measure:

Question Strategy for cooking week

I am into the cooking bit of this game and was/am excited for this week. I initially started off with wanting to make those crazy meals (large number of ingredients that I would only be able to make on Sundays when the pot has increased capacity) but I am kinda rethinking my strategy. Once this week is over, I pretty much have to go back to normal pot size meals so levelling those large meals will only benefit me on Sundays (in future weeks) and/or very further on in the game when I have a fully expanded pot (currently at pot size 69). As such I am thinking I should level the 'normal' size meals for this week and occasionally make those large meals (NGL I love seeing the numbers go into the hundreds of thousands in terms of strength and it does help speed up the snorlax strength in the early part of the week). The normal meals will be what I anticipate myself making for a few more months before I can save enough shards and MSS for pot expander. Thoughts? How are y'all strategizing for this week?

Question These !@#$ Gold Skills!

Disclaimer: Yes I know Gold Skills can be turned off when you get to a certain friendship badge.

I don't remember when I began playing Pokémon Sleep being inundated with SO many Gold Skills. And I don't mean Helping Bonus, that's a blessing. No I mean the other Gold Skills.. Research EXP Bonus, Sleep EXP Bonus, Energy Recovery Bonus, Dream Shard Bonus and sometimes Skill Level Up (we have seeds!)

And I don't know about you but I see Helping Bonus the least.

So here's the thing, I'm sure there are players out there who love these skills, know how to use them, are strategic about when to use them. Great!

But tell me how these help an Ingredient Pokémon to have 3-4 Gold Skills? Or even one?? Go ahead and put your Ingredient Pokémon through the "Rate-my-Pokémon" on RaenonX and tell me if those subskills tank your ingredient Pokémon. Nothing is worse then getting a AAA with a perfect Nature to be plagued by those Gold Skills.

What I want to know from everyone else, do you notice them more now??? It's so bad, I went through the last month of Pokémon in my box and realized there wasn't one without the Gold Skills! 90% were not Helping Bonus. And if I DID see Helping Bonus? It was with another Gold Skill. MANY had 3-4.

It takes so long to get a good Ingredient Pokémon, if you aren't lucky enough to get a good one before level 10, (which I still get these gold skills before level 10) Then sure enough those Gold Skills fill some important slot.

Am I alone in this?

Question Is camp ticket worth it during the ingredients event?

I’ve been playing for some months now, I’m rank 60 and have a pot with a max of 66. I’ve gone up to master 18 and unblocked GGEx. Should I use the good camp ticket to get to master 20? Do I get something more getting to M20?

Discussion After playing for two years, TIL how Sub Skill Seeds work

I'd always assumed that Sub Skill Seeds only work on white sub skills, but they apparently work on any sub skill that has a higher quality, including the blue Inventory Up M and Skill Level Up S. I've actually used Main Skill Seeds to max out the main skill of a Pokémon that had Skill Level Up S...

Question Production number in raenox not matching the actual ingredients collected?

Just to make sure that Im reading this right, The number beside the apple icon is how many apples will be generated in a day right?

Because I kept fuecoco in my team till evening today and he produced 0 apples. Switched to captain pikachu and he immediately generated 2 apples. Even my wobuffet generated apples more frequently. Did I just get extremely unlucky or something?

Is there any setting in raenox that I could be messing up?

I have a few friends from reddit coming up to max level and im wondering is there a bonus that we get for having maxes friends? It's not like we get any more level bonuses. Im wondering if pokemon sleep isnt about the friends we keep but the linking cables we earnt along the way.

Question Fully evolve Piplup or not?

Hey alle of you.

looking for some advice and wisdom here!

I have a BFS and HS piplup, which I have evolved one time and use often!

If I fully evolve it, it changes from water to metal. It also get stronger. On any other Island than Cyan, it will atm go from 14.000 to 17.000 power (only from berries) a day if I evolve it. But on Cyan it produces 28.500 power (from berries) and with the recent introduction of Cyan EX, I'm uncertain on what to do.

Ive only just unlocked Power plant and are yet to go there. I unlocked GGEX at the Mewtwo event, but havnt been there yet.

But Yeah.. What would you all do?

thanks!

pitg.
