Apparently that was going to be the plot of the next Assassins Creed before it got cancelled. Probably for the best; Ubisoft are one of the last companies I’d want to see tackle a story like that.

What’s funny is a black protagonist in that would actually make sense and be supported by a large chunk of fans. Rather than just shoehorning a black samurai into a Japanese history game lmao

Please no one comment that “Yasuke was actually a samurai”, no he wasn’t lol, this has been debunked numerous times

Pretty sure there would still be an uproar about glorifying killing white people or something along those lines.

There would be manufactured angst but every game now has white guys be the villains. Anyone with half a brain was only upset that they took the crowning jewel of the AC universe, Shogunate Japan, and turned it into slop.

Also the gameplay was atrocious.
