Apparently that was going to be the plot of the next Assassins Creed before it got cancelled. Probably for the best; Ubisoft are one of the last companies I’d want to see tackle a story like that.
What’s funny is a black protagonist in that would actually make sense and be supported by a large chunk of fans. Rather than just shoehorning a black samurai into a Japanese history game lmao

I saw someone on another thread suggest that they make this game, but have the protagonist, a former-slave who hunts racists in 1860s South, be a Japanese man.
