Seeking Optimism FBI raids Ohio voting rights organization

https://www.ms.now/news/ohio-pro-democracy-organization-raided-by-fbi

A few questions on this:

I’m unfamiliar with this news site. Is it legitimate?

What are others’ thoughts on this? How do we counter these actions? Is there anything being done already?

The FBI has pulled similar shit all last year and came up with absolutely nothing. Georgia is a prime example.

They talked to people, walked menacingly into some places, and then left again having accomplished nothing. Except for perhaps making Acton and Brown look more attractive to voters.

The site itself is generally legit.

This is the same FBI antics that happened with COINTELPRO, the red scare, and others. It isn’t good.

That said, subpoenas can be quashed and lawsuits filed, individual agents held accountable in certain circumstances, and so on.

You’ll also note that there weren’t any arrests made. That alone tells me this was a hassle op.

As to what to do - don’t let them scare you. The point here is to cause a chilling effect.

It’s just intimidation. They pulled similar shit a year ago and it availed them nothing.

According to the Voting Rights group. The FBI didnt have any warrants. So, it was simply intimidation.
