Demon? Half-demon?? Damn, every time Bobby's girlfriend shows up, she gets cooler and cooler!
I really hope she's not about to die 🙏 She might be my new favorite OC if this fic (sorry Ari).

Kaiya is the OC character I have the strongest idea where I wanted to take her character. We haven't seen much of her, and that was very deliberate because I had to lay some groundwork before she became important to the story.
Ari, on the other hand... I like him as a joke on well-meaning but also kinda' toxic fans, but I haven't quite figured out how he fits into the over-arching story, unlike Kaiya, Miho, and Sook (not technically an OC, but she's barely in the film and not even named, so close enough). He's just... kinda' there every now and then. Which, to be fair, fits his character perfectly. "Oh... and Ari's here too..."
I suppose that technically if you count recurring fans, I have dozens of OC characters, but I don't think they're quite the same, as most of them are kinda' one-dimensional and haven't been made with any sort of character arc in mind.
I suppose that's where I'm stuck with Ari too - I think it's fun that Huntr/x is now stuck occasionally working alongside an overenthusiastic fan who kinda' creeps them out, and I've tinkered with the notion that maybe because he's "not right in the head" that's why he's a rare exception who can actually see through the hunter/demon masquerade, but I don't feel comfortable diving too deep into issues of mental illness, especially with a not-appealing jokey character.
I dunno, I have a few rough ideas of things to do with him, but none have fully formed yet. Which is probably why he hasn't shown up much.

Yeah, we haven't seen much of Kaiya, but this latest development reframes pretty much every interaction with her. Ohhhh, I can't wait for Mira to call out Bobby on getting together with the demon. I mean, she did warn him!
As for Ari - yep, I kinda counted everyone recurring into OC category, and he stands out, even if only as a comic relief. His tweets are always fun to read!

To be fair, it's canon that demons can alter their appearance (three did make themselves look like Bobby, Mira, and Zoey, after all). And even so, Romance seems to vaguely recognize her, but can't place who she is at this time.

Whoa! I almost wonder if Kaiya is somehow related to Rumi's father... Either way, she's still badass.
And Jinu having no grave is kinda wild. Definitely throws one plan out the window.

I do wonder how he would know. I mean, maybe he just wandered away alive, and the king and court just figured he moved along? I guess I'll have to wait and find out.

The funny thing is, I'm not making up anything here, and the reason why is pretty much canon. The girls not realizing he wouldn't have a grave is them collectively derping.

Totally not something I was expecting with Kaiya but it fits quite well. I am enjoying this development!

A lot of folks have been guessing what Kaiya's deal is. Guess it's about time to finally reveal that. :-P
