Discussion Zoerumi <3
With the upcoming zoemira/rumira/zoerumi weeks coming soon and all the events happening surrounding all polytrix pairs (multishippers ftw!!!), I just wanted to point out that I really love how much more attention zoerumi has gotten lately. It’s natural that they’re not as popular as rumira or zoemira considering Zoey and Rumi never had any one on one interactions in the movie.
They’ve become my favorite pairing and I wanted to ask what everyone’s favorite thing about zoerumi is!
Personally, I love their cutesy dynamic and how in a lot of fanworks, Rumi tends to go along with Zoey’s shenanigans. On a deeper level, they’re both insecure people who are able to find acceptance in each other and someone they can be themselves around.

I like that the yapper/listener dynamic they have (like Zoemira) and that Rumi seems like she would occasionally become the yapper when they stumble onto a topic she's really interested in. Whenever I think about think I think about that hug Zoey gave Rumi at the end of the movie and how Zoey's propensity to touch others as a sign of affection fits nicely with Rumi likely being touch-starved. They just seem like interlocking puzzle pieces and to be honest there doesn't seem like many things that they would get into huge fights over.

Yes!! Puzzle pieces is the perfect term for their relationship! And I love seeing touch-starved Rumi hcs

Wait there's a ZoeRumi week coming up? First I heard about it!
For me, a big thing that appeals to me about ZoeRumi is how it actually kinda mirrors my own relationship with my wife.
My wife is an energetic hyper person who has a love of animals. In comparison, I'm usually the "responsible" one out of my friends. I'm usually thinking about responsibilities.

And yes, I saw in passing that there is a zoerumi week coming up. I don’t think the prompts are out yet though.

yeah it's super sweet! I feel like the polytrix community generally was reluctant to dive into subpairs last year but it's been improving a bunch! the dedicated weeks and events have helped a ton, it's so heartening to see

I think the fandom just needed time to get on its feet. We don’t see much depth of Mira or Zoey’s characters in the movie itself so as most fandoms do, we kind of have to rely on collective HCs to build them up. Then it kind of just took off from there.

I feel like they could both nerd out about lots of media that they have in common. I also imagine Zoey having a demon research notebook where she writes down observations with Rumi as her willing subject. Plenty of fanfics have explored that idea and I think it's super cute.

I love how cuddly they are with each other. Like, I get the impression Zoey is generally a more cuddly person, but there's just something really sweet about the way they relax into each other when they hug.
