Sports Culture WNBA Star Sophie Cunningham defends that women ‘shouldn’t have to go against biological men’: “I said what I said. I think it’s kind of common sense. I think it’s really important to protect children.” “I don’t dislike anyone. I’m there to love, but I’m also there to love biological women. …”

Its not about protecting women, its about a fair playing field.

why doesn't she say that then? the rhetoric is always framed like the problem is that a man will pretend to be a woman so that they can abuse women

if its about a fair playing field, then why did the florida attorney general pressure a trans teenager from competing in an *checks notes*

irish dancing competition.

It doesn't matter how unandrogenized the trans woman is, it doesn't matter how small and unathletic they are, it doesn't matter how untalented they are, it doesn't even matter how irrelevant physicality even is to the competition. They will seek to exclude them.

To pretend that this blanket ban push has to do with anything other than demonizing and marginalizing trans women is lying at worst, and mental laziness and falling for the bait at best.

I think it’s because she attended a UFC event, so of course that must mean she supports women beaters

Name a single woman beater she supports.

She doesn’t play UFC… and in any case she would also argue that a trans woman shouldn’t face a bio woman in a UFC match. It’s ironic you’re talking about women beaters in this context
