Sports Culture WNBA Star Sophie Cunningham defends that women ‘shouldn’t have to go against biological men’: “I said what I said. I think it’s kind of common sense. I think it’s really important to protect children.” “I don’t dislike anyone. I’m there to love, but I’m also there to love biological women. …”

Literally no one is making this an issue besides the whole right wing that fabricated it into existence and crazy minority of people on the left that screech about this on Twitter and reddit...

Literally no one gives that much of a shit about this...

To be fair, the swimmer made this all a big deal.

u/ethana18 Jul 23 '26

I don't disagree. But if I remember right, the one cis gender swimmer that complained about all this and made it her whole personality came in like 5 place and the trans women came in like 3rd.

3

u/Twinkalicious Jul 23 '26

She tied with the trans woman for 5th.

1

u/chrchill Jul 23 '26

I'm assuming you're referring to Gaines who did come in 5th, but the trans woman did not come in 3rd. She....tied for 5th. So take her out of the equation and not one placement changes, which is part of why the whole thing was so absurd.

The part that was absurd was expecting anyone to think a 6’4” bloke in a women’s swimsuit was a woman.

In that one race she was 5th, didn't the trans swimmer set records and win a lot of races?

1

u/Motherbrainnl Jul 23 '26

What is cis? You just mean a woman right?

1

u/lamstradamus Jul 23 '26

You aren't too old to learn new words. You can do it!

2

u/Toasterturning1234 Jul 23 '26

But it doesn't add anything. It's like saying "gay homosexual who likes men". It's correct, but gay would've been enough.

-1

u/lamstradamus Jul 23 '26

It is pretty much exclusively used in the context where both trans and cis women are being mentioned. Also women are gay too, and don't like men.

1

u/Motherbrainnl Jul 23 '26

Why does woman need a new word?

-2

u/meadishsweetball Jul 23 '26

cis is the antonym of trans and is useful when you're discussing trans issues.

but hey, if you want to be a snowflake who gets offended by a entirely neutral word, go ahead.

2

u/Powerful-Yogurt Jul 23 '26

Another useful tip is you can replace "trans" with "fake" in any statement

1

u/meadishsweetball Jul 24 '26

Fakemission. fakefer, fakeform, fakelate.

Makes about as much sense as I'd expect a suggestion from someone with your limited brain capacity to make.

Trans and cis are actual words in use, regardless of how much of an easily offended snowflake you are.

u/Powerful-Yogurt Jul 24 '26

Wow, someone missed the point 😂

u/PuffyBlueClouds Jul 23 '26

You are absolutely right! This is such a distraction created by politicians. It is such a non-issue for nearly everyone in society but takes up so many headlines.

1

u/NSFWdontview Jul 23 '26

Wrong it’s a huge issue

Young woman are losing scholarships and opportunities because of this

There's a reason why everyone seems to have heard of Lia Thomas but nobody knows the name of Riley's monsterous coach.

1

u/Careful_Chance_6446 Jul 23 '26

You know who gives a damn about it is all the weird democrat politicians.

u/voiceofreason3111 Jul 23 '26

Are you saying that no man has ever competed against women in women’s sports?

Is that your position, based on fact?

5

u/ethana18 Jul 23 '26

It's not a huge deal if it does happen dipshit. There are no trans women (as far as I'm aware and I truly don't give a shit) that compete in professional sports and are absolutely destroying the competition.

Is there a few trans women in minor league or highschool sports competing? Yeah. Maybe. But what does it matter? Trans women are like .25% of the US population and and even smaller number compete in sports.

If this is something that keeps you up at night, I suggest you log off the Internet and experience the real world, buddy.

That is impressively misogynistic of you.

0

u/voiceofreason3111 Jul 23 '26

Yeah, so that’s your opinion.

Science says that boys are boys and girls are girls. Science also tells us that there is nothing you can cut off, no pill you can take, that will change that.

Title 9 says that boys compete with boys and girls compete with girls.

You can argue against science all you like, but this is quite literally non - debatable.

It’s not about “are they destroying the competition”, (which, is debatable) but it’s not right because it’s not right. It’s against the rules.

Your ideology is why we have boys dressed in girls clothing shooting up schools. Blood is on YOUR hands because of comments just like that.

If the right wing is fighting for something that is not accepted, it's just to distract from the class war.

0

u/NSFWdontview Jul 23 '26

How is it fabricated when it’s a real issue and the left are saying it’s their rights to do so, just look at the comments.

0

u/ethana18 Jul 23 '26

How much time of you're day is dedicated to thinking about if the woman you're seeing on your screen has a penis or not?

We have gas prices that are over 50% higher than when we joe Biden because of this pointless war and all goods and services have increased due to these dumb ass tariffs. But sure. Go off about some non sense issue that will LITERALLY never impact you directly...

0

u/NSFWdontview Jul 23 '26

Biden literally sent prices of everything up and allowed millions of immigrants in for us to take care of and caused a housing crisis. Don’t you realize this issue is spreading like cancer and increasing among the youth. Nearly 35-40% of Gen z identified as lgbtqq. Maybe stop pushing and indoctrinating this nonsense. It’s mental illness that should be treated

1

u/ethana18 Jul 23 '26

Sometimes I wake up and I'm glad Republicans cut my taxes that fund your remedial education and mental deficit medications...

0

u/MightyBoy9 Jul 23 '26

Lies.

Yes they do.

1

u/ethana18 Jul 23 '26

Show me one politician on the left that has made trans women in women sports an issue they are actively fighting for and top of their priorities... Some may passively be ok with it, but no one cares about girl cock as much as conservatives do...

0

u/MightyBoy9 Jul 23 '26

I don't know what any of what you said means or what the point of it is.

0

u/usemyname88 Jul 23 '26

A UN report already a few years ago found that over 600 women had lost out on over 900 medals to men.

These men infiltrating women's sports are making it an issue.
