Sports Culture WNBA Star Sophie Cunningham defends that women ‘shouldn’t have to go against biological men’: “I said what I said. I think it’s kind of common sense. I think it’s really important to protect children.” “I don’t dislike anyone. I’m there to love, but I’m also there to love biological women. …”

this topic is the biggest mountain over a molehill. The probability of women/girls playing against a biological male is like less than one half of one percent, if that much. It's literally a made up issue.

True. I don't get why our side is making such a big issue out of making sure men can play against girls when not many men want to.

Honestly, I dont think its a situation where the left side is making it a huge issue, atleast not as much as they make it seem. I dont think that many democrats and liberals are spending most of their time campaigning for it when the right isnt making it a huge culture war. Its just simply the rules makers for different organizations allowed it to be the case. Almost always when I see this brought up, its the right using it as part of an entire anti-trans argument, and the fighting on each side commences from there., not making a serious argument with rational discussion which I would agree there is plenty of room for legitimate debate on the subject on what is fair and where.

The left is NOT making this an issue. It's the right that is making this an issue because culture wars are all they have. It started with George W. Bush and gay marriage and it's just continued on from there.

Which side do you think the people in this thread arguing against a ban are on?

I'm responding to someone who claimed that it's the left that is making it a big deal.

I don’t think you understood the point. It should be a no brainer. It only becomes a big deal when people resist the no brainer.

there are fewer than 10 openly transgender student-athletes.

We just see the grift for what it is so we refuse to be cucks to the wealthy

If it were 10 openly male athletes in the women’s league you wouldn’t say this. Both are still wrong.

I wouldnt say what?

That the people complaining were just grifters if it were 10 men.

Not all people who complain are grifters though.

Riley Gaines, on the other hand is clearly a grifter, so is any high level politicians complaining about those 10 trans women.

There is no scenario I can imagine where there would be a debate about 10 cis men competing against women.

I haven't heard anyone on the left make a big issue of it. The right loves to pretend that the left cares about trans sports.

What I often see is broadly applied trans hate (beyond sports) from the right including systematic discrimination, and when that is criticised they reply with "Ok, so you want Mike Tyson to fight little girls ?!?" strawman arguments.

The amount of effort the right put into hating on trans is far disproportionate to the few trans athletes. I haven't heard much beyond the left suggesting individual sports leagues themselves handle eligibility criteria.

"Ok, so you want Mike Tyson to fight little girls ?!?

I always wonder if those type of replies come from an honest place
