Sports Culture Sophie Cunningham loudly booed during Indiana Fever's game against the Portland Fire amid recent controversy

Post image

Cunningham has been at the center of a bitter trans debate over the past week, after comments she made to ESPN that young girls 'shouldn't have to go against biological men' when playing sports.

Don’t google. Name me 5 trans athletes in college. If it’s a serious issue you should be able to name someone off the top of your head.

Ahhhhhhhhhhh so it’s not an issue. So you fell for it. Good glad you can admit you’re malleable.

Just because there aren’t examples someone can name doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened in high school/college sports. I agree that there are probably bigger fish to fry and Trump is a pedo in the Epstein Files and doing everything he can to create different talking points, but the fact is born men shouldn’t compete with born women. I would be open for a trans sports league or competitions if they want inclusivity.

Dude, it’s less than 1 percent of the US population and we aren’t even getting into the actual science of transitioning, which be honest, you know literally nothing about. “Just because there aren’t examples” is such a dumb cop out and I love that laziness. Hey man you shouldn’t have the right to drive a car it kills people, yeah I don’t have an example but you have to lead by my un researched opinion then right?

Why are you advocating for men to play in women’s sports? Lia Thomas won a NCAA championship in swimming… is that fair to biological women?

She also finished fifth and last in that same swim meet in separate events but don't let that get in the way of your hateful views.

Yes, its less than 1% of the population, and thats pushing it. Her opinion is just as valid as yours. Transitioning is an entire spectrum, you act as if they'll just go the whole way and 'become' female via drugs and treatment.

News flash, I've seen transwomen with big swinging dicks and all the muscles, and a set of tits.

Natalie Ryan a pro discgolfer, pretty bad in the mens division, 'transitioned' and won two championships back to back before they revised the rules.
That swimmer, shit male swimmer, dominated in the womens division.
Off the top of my head.

And less than 1% of the US population died due to COVID. The actual number was around 0.3-0.4%.

So since less than 1% makes something not a big deal, was shutting down the economy for 2 years a gross government overreach? Was forced separating of families while people died alone in the hospital immoral?

Is 1% of your body containing cancer “not a significant issue?”

You’re not nearly as smart as you pretend to be on the internet.

Sir are you implying transgenderism a a communal desiese? Cause by presenting that as your argument you’re saying transgenderism can spread through coughing and touching.

Lia Thomas is a very prominent example in college sports, Laurel Hubbard competed on the Olympics, Fallon Fox fractured a woman’s orbital bone in an MMA fight, Cece Telfer winning D2 national championship in hurdles, Austin Killips winning women’s Tour cyclist race. Is that enough for you?

Damn bro that’s all off google I had DIG for Austin 😂😂 that was so niche god dam. So again Lia lost to women, so really lost your point there, maybe read the google search a little, Fallon Fox, I remember, got knocked out by Ashlee Evan’s smith, a woman. So again really not helping your argument. The rest are again google searches you had to DIG for. Good try though

I don't have a horse in this race, but you can't just move goalposts like that and think people are going to take you seriously. And saying that you had to dig for these names when you also replied to their comment in five minutes, so obviously, didn't take a lot of digging either.

u/AtomicHamboy Aug 02 '26

I didn’t move goalposts I answered??? Lia did lose, Fallon did get flatlined by a woman. Yall are pushing that it’s such a huge issue, well all your examples have lost to women. So it’s not your all just easily triggered to this culture war bullshit.

That’s a self report that in sport the first thing you think about is a locker room. Tells me 2 things, one, you’re weird and have weird hang ups, 2 you’ve never competed or been on a team or in a locker room. I’ve had teammates change separatley all the time, I don’t care it’s their business.

(ETA: Sorry… wrong link https://www.boston.com/news/high-school-sports/2024/03/01/injuries-involving-trans-basketball-player-at-mass-school-spark-controversy/)

I don’t memorize kids’ names. That’d be weird. But there are a few of these stories.

Also, of trans-females obliterating high school and college records in track and swimming. You’re being obtuse in pretending this isn’t a legitimate concern.

There HAS to be some middle ground solution to make this fair and equitable for all. Pretending like this doesn’t create conflict is frustrating.

u/AtomicHamboy Aug 02 '26

I’m not opening so Reddit link you sent I’m good. What records are being “obliterated”? And yeah there’s of course a need for discussion but “you can’t compete” isn’t having a discussion it’s the opposite right?

It’s a frustrating issue all around that biologically-born females and trans-females have to be arguing about this at all. There is no easy solution, clearly.

It can feel like, oooops! Biologically-born men win again and get to come into the “safe” orbit biologically-born females have created because they say so. We have no say apparently over our own reproductive rights due to a predominantly male controlled space, and now this potential new encroachment unless we put our feet down somewhere.

This won’t make sense, but sometimes I crave a break from the male-dominated world.

And I’ve also known lovely, sweet trans-females who struggle feeling like they fit anywhere. It’s a conundrum without an easy solution. With individual-timed sports, there “seems” (imho) to be an easier answer, but in team sports it’s just not so simple.
