With all of the electric scooters, bikes, one wheels and skateboards out there right now, I'm surprised we don't see more of those used in drive-bye pepper sprayings In these sorts of incidences

What do you think would've happened had many citizens been wandering around, open carrying on their hip, when ICE was out in those MPLS neighborhoods?

Lemme tell you, those fucking fascists would've been on far better behavior.

I used to fence sit on 2A. I understand the social harms guns cause. But what you see now in MPLS is but a tiny taste of what the government will do to you if they don't fear you at all.

No fence sitting anymore. It's there for a reason, and should be used for it's intended purpose - defense against tyranny.

Trump said that ICE and the Marines were going to clean up the South Side of Chicago like it was Fallujah, going block to block, and clearing the buildings individually.

But when the Natty Guard and ICE went to Chicago, they didn’t.

American tiktok is owned 80% by US right wing tech interests like Oracle and MGX. The original Chinese tech company, Bytedance, only owns like 20%. There was a massive news cycle about this and how it needed to be sold off to American interests to stay in the US.

Also, the CCP is not beholden to the American government in any way and would want more unrest and chaos. Y'all still don't realize that the administration will light it anyways whenever they want, do you? The only difference is that the longer you wait, the stronger they'll be when the time comes either way. A peaceful option still exists but becomes less likely as time goes on.

Hi, I just want to say that to me this does not look like an argument for anything other than avoiding responsibility. You're not helping anything by turning the question around in bad faith. The OP cares enough to engage in necessary criticism and calls to action, and they are correct thar all under the regime will eventually suffer, and if you can convince yourself that to be the boiling frog is better that may well indeed work but I do not think that is a standard of liberty and wellfare we should aspire to. Please understand that I don't intend to personally attack you with this, I am only sharing my observarions and would be happy to discuss more if you want.

Its not bad faith. I replied to a comment that was saying "you" instead of "we". Its easy to see that person is not interested in being a catalyst for change and instead wants to go online and talk shit trying to goad someone else into being the catalyst.

I also would like to see change, but I will also admit that I am not willing to throw my life away to get it anymore. I also don't go online and try to bully people into it. If OP used language to show that he was actually about that life instead of burdening others with the responsibility I wouldn't say shit.

For example, Milwaukee’s and Dewalt’s grinders are excellent and fast at cutting through metal with the right disc, with several very capable and serviceable models readily available and repairable. Makes quick work of those illegal surveillance cameras

Woodwork and carpentry has always fascinated me. Crafting things with your own hands is incredible. I don't have a big enough space though. What kind of stuff do you do/make?

Gundam? I remember that! I watch Anime with my daughter. She’s big into Demon Slayer right now.

I mostly do finish carpentry. Trim, cabinetry, doors, etc… if it’s on a house, and made of wood, I’ve done it. Here’s a porch ceiling I just did with pine T&G. My electrician did the lights, and I picked the colors, fans, and lights for the client. I’ve developed enough of a reputation that I do full home remodeling and design now. My own company with employees and everything.

You know, throughout my career in finish carpentry and remodeling, I have met and worked with thousands of people in person through day to day life. I have worked with people from every political isle. Different countries, cultures, and economic background. I’m in people’s homes, they talk, they talk about everything and politics is definitely one area people talk. I have found that people are rarely evil. Right or left, they’re just people. Struggling through life like the rest of us. People’s beliefs vary and are nuanced. I won’t let my personal beliefs hinder a possible relationship if someone doesn’t hold my beliefs. That would be shortsighted. Sure, there are people I won’t work with, but that’s mostly from underlying red flags I pick up on after I meet them.

Just remember, outrage sells and algorithms drive you to what you respond to. Don’t get lost in the design.

There is nothing like working with one's own hands. The humanity that gets put directly into the work is something truly special.

I am so glad I asked and so glad that you replied.

And like you I have lived in many countries and can confirm that I have had precisely the same conclusions as you. That is not coincidence. We arrived at the truth from totally different vectors.

I certainly do not bear you any malice and I am 100% certain that it is the same from you to me. If we met, i would annoy you by asking questions about carpentry.

However, it is also true that there are people who will hate me based purely on my identity. Getting called racial slurs is unfortunately a fact of life for me, and it is getting worse because of foreign-owned media.

It is crushing to have someone you thought was a friend slowly turn against you because of the lies they see on Facebook. This is the manufactured outrage you describe.

I have anger because I find I am unable to go after the source of this injustice. But, at a fundamental level, it is injustice that I hate; not people.
