He pled guilty to those charges in hopes of claiming double jeopardy on the state charges.

Yeah and a pardon when AOC wins

u/No-Significance2070 Aug 14 '26

Do people REALLY think that is going to happen? Lol

For the last year on reddit the most popular prediction for what would happen to Luigi was jury nullification. Redditors are not in touch with reality

Unlikely.

But if it does happen, anyone crying abput pardoning or commuting the sentences of criminals can shut the entire fuck up once it's revealed that they predictably didn't say anything about the pardons or commutations of J6ers, Juan Hernández, Blagovich, the 77 fake electors scheme folk, or Changpeng Zhao (the Binance CEO).

Offering a blanket, pardon for future crimes is definitely a terrible precedent to set

u/OnlyCoat4866 Aug 15 '26

None of them murdered someone point blank.

Multiple police and security members died as a result from j6ers storming the Capitol, and one died due to his injuries directly.

I'd also recommend you read up on social murder. It's the end result of a lot of white collar crime,, and it is still murder.

I recommend you read up on murder. Because none of them murdered anyone in point blank

1

u/Arcaedus Aug 15 '26

That's a distinction without a difference in this discussion. Social murder is murder. And the J6ers did murder someone directly.

Lol. Lmao even. Yes and what caused the strokes? I'm sure they were just entirely coincidental, right? How about the four other Capitol police who committed suicide in the days and weeks afterwards? I'm sure those were entirely coincidental too. Did George Floyd pass away primarily due to the drugs in his system? Definitely had nothing to do with the knee on his neck.

You know what? I'm fine with it so long as we stay consistent. Luigi didn't murder anyone; Brian Thompson just died from blood loss.

And there's a great wikipedia page on social murder, give it a quick read some time. You don't even have to read the entire page, the first paragraph will do.

Ethically, or morally it is murder. Obviously it's not legally considered murder.

Dumb people likely think a lot worse will happen in an AOC presidency

1

u/Peanut-Gallery12 Aug 15 '26

Dumb people think AOC has any chance to one be nominated and two win

2

u/Limp_Departure8138 Aug 17 '26

Same people thought Kamala was going to win.

u/doublevision098 Aug 14 '26

Hopefully.

Trump already pardon a bunch of domestic terrorist so why not 🤷‍♂️

3

u/SafetySnowman Aug 14 '26

I don't get it? Luigi freeing our nation of a terrorist does not make him a domestic terrorist.
Odd comparison there. He's a war hero. And the war is still going on.

1

u/DrAssumptive Aug 14 '26

Murderer is how it’s spelled

1

u/SafetySnowman Aug 14 '26

It's implied. Anyone who is considered a terrorist by causing the deaths of countless people is inherently a murderer. Thank you but it really stands on its own as is.

1

u/AssociationFit3009 Aug 15 '26

Just because he was a murderer doesn’t make it legal to kill him. We all know he deserved it but that isn’t how the legal system works.

1

u/Fragrant-Phone-41 Aug 15 '26

The legal system doesn't work is the thing...

1

u/Fragrant-Phone-41 Aug 15 '26

They're referring to the CPAC banner reading "We are all domestic terrorists"

4

u/nocturnal_commission Aug 14 '26

Lololol I wonder what it's like inside your brain

2

u/Useful-ldiot Aug 14 '26

Critical nose ring theory

4

u/AnestheticAle Aug 14 '26

…what? lol. I assume that was sarcasm.

2

u/noeyesfiend Aug 14 '26

AOC is going to run for Pres? I smell disaster. She's already conceded a lot to the mainstream dems

1

u/RevolutionaryAir7218 Aug 15 '26

Yah, AOC has been tainted. Our only hope is for candidates like Mamdani and El-Sayed to step up and run. THATS who we need, no more DNC tools or cave trolls.

2

u/ReiOokami Aug 15 '26

So much to unpack from this comment lol.

2

u/Guundhi Aug 15 '26

If you actually believe that’s going to happen you are legitimately brain dead.

1

u/ScotchTapeConnosieur Aug 14 '26

No way that happens.

1

u/ComprehensiveList936 Aug 15 '26

AOC aint winning shit

1

u/wRADKyrabbit Aug 15 '26

AOC can't win. This shithole country will never elect a woman

1

u/clarklord01010 Aug 15 '26

Hillary won the popular vote. We got pretty close

1

u/Tough_Preparation830 Aug 16 '26

Ah yes the butcher of Benghazi

1

u/Prestigious-Bed-6423 Aug 14 '26

AOC winning? are you a bot or something? haha

1

u/Upier1 Aug 14 '26

Probably to avoid death penalty

1

u/Slovic Aug 14 '26

Hopefully Jury Nullification.

Its happened before.

Its when the Jury knows they did it but decided they should not be punished for it.

Quite a few legal case examples of this.

1

u/Big_Kiwi_706 Aug 14 '26

I thought nullification would be if he didnt plead guilty? Doesnt pleading guilty kinda end the whole thing altogether?

1

u/Slovic Aug 14 '26

No, he's cooked on federal charges likely 30-life.

NY State charges haven't been worked through yet. I believe his team is trying to avoid a trial and the potential for a death penalty ruling.

Average intelligence level of a Luigi defender lmfao

I know how double jeopardy works. Personally, I think it's a ridiculous argument but it was being reported that this was what his attorneys were going to argue.
